A Price Pritchett Quote
This one comes from his classic book YouΒ² "To put it simply, as human beings, we are going to have to reframe our ideas about the universe and how we fit into it." Think about that

@Rasheed Hooda fascinating, I learned something new today, Price Pritchett, never heard of him before today, and now I'm going down that rabbit hole to explore his world. 😎
Why did you join Embrace Your Inner Weirdo and what do you expect out of it?
Please Help Me Help You. I am working on adding courses to the classroom and I want to make sure that what I add is what you want/need. This community started out as Yes You Can! in January. It went through two or three name changes in the following couple of months before landing on the one that I wanted in the first place. (I had to learn the lesson that you cannot give away your power to the so-called gurus, if you want to Embrace Your Inner Weirdo) My vision for the community is to encourage people to create a way of producing income that is in alignment with their Divine Design, or what I refer to as their Inner Weirdo. I went over the answers you all gave to the question about your biggest obstacle preventing you from living your dream life. Surprisingly, the top category was "Nothing." I have a favor to ask of those who said that, and you know who you are. Can you please share your secret? I am sure everyone else is eager to learn. Alternately, share your Skool Community Link in the comments so those who can relate to it can join it. (Fair warning: If you didn't say "nothing" and drop your link, I will delete the comment) The top three categories after that were: 1. Self-limiting beliefs 2. Money 3. Time So I am focusing on those. What will be really helpful to me is if you can provide more details about your obstacles so I can create bespoke solutions. I had dedicated Fridays as the "Ask Uncle Anything" day. I am going to change that to a Category of it's own, and just send out a reminder every Friday that it's there. I may be a little less active here for the next 10 days or so while I work on the back end of the community. If you have something urgent, drop me a DM. Let's make this the best community where people congregate to help each other live their Best Life!

Let me be the Cranky Cynic to challenge the status quo. When I read that the "vision for the community is to encourage people to create a way of producing income" that really confuses me. I'm not here to talk about anything income producing. The biggest obstacles in life are the distractions that are constantly swirling around me. That's true for most people. It doesn't matter what your goals are, you need a coach, a mentor, a community, to keep you focused so you don't get sucked into the vortex of swirling distractions. Coming back to the question, what do you expect out of it, my answer is a coach, a mentor, a community, to keep me focused so I don't get sucked into the vortex of swirling distractions. Does that make sense?

I'm trying to summarize this as best I can: "Do some good with your money" A few weeks ago, I saw an interview of Mark Cuban. I love the man, a geek after own mindset, grew up in Western PA like I did, we're exactly the same age. The only difference is, he's a billionaire, I'm not. He "invented" internet radio, sold it to Yahoo, shorted the stock that Yahoo gave him, and walked away a billionaire. But to this post, in the interview from a few weeks ago, he said he's well off, his family is well taken care of, so he wants to help where he can. So helped in creating a prescription drug company that's not in it to make money. He is part of a company that, in his words, "We started this company as an effort to disrupt the drug industry and to do our best to end ridiculous drug prices." He's a true example of "Do some good with your money."

What 24 hour deadline? Deadline, I don't need no stinking deadline. In the words of the great philosopher Bob Seger... "Well, those drifters days are past me now I've got so much more to think about Deadlines and commitments What to leave in, what to leave out?"
Building a Purple Cow
Picture this β€” I am standing tall with an axe in my hand building a purple cow. I know that probably sounds like a strange image, but I think that by the time you’re done reading this very long essay, it will make sense. First, @Rasheed Hooda, I want to say thank you for the comment that inspired this post. Please know that I truly appreciate your words of wisdom and your humble and gentle nudge. I know you care, and I believe you are trying to help. And based on what you know about me so far, you are giving me the kind of positive nudge that a good coach or friend would give. And I really do appreciate that! I also continue to agree with the concept that β€œdone is better than perfect,” and I do not dismiss that at all. In fact, I think people who are building anything meaningful need to hear that from time to time because it is easy to get stuck polishing something that never gets released. But I also think there is another side to this that may not be visible from the outside. What may look like perfectionism is, in my case, what I call preparation with purpose. For those who are reading this who don't know anything about my history, back in late 2020, while recovering from COVID, I had an idea for starting what I call a For-Profit Ministry. After months of research and planning what this could become, my wife Jodell and I incorporated in May of 2021. That plan had many moving parts that each needed to be researched. Between May of 2021 and January of 2024, we struggled with life events but kept pushing forward, one day at a time. In January of 2024, I jumped into creating videos and thought I could do both: continue to build the systems I needed and create content at the same time. However, by December of 2024, I realized I had taken on too much and had to stop dividing my focus. I knew that if I kept trying to move forward with a divided focus, I was never going to reach the ultimate goal of the ministry. I also knew that my wife and I had agreed that we were not going to build another business that depended on employees the way some of our past companies did.

@George Benson WOW! I may have to come back a few times and reread it just to digest all you have said here. I share your mindset in so many ways, at so many levels. Also cool, I share in your style of coming up with analogies to illustrate your ideas. I could probably pick you brain on what you are doing, and we'll have to find a way to do that so we don't bore to tears everyone in the Skool forums with all our geek speak. So much more that I could say right now, but for now, leaving you to sharpen your axe.
