Good Morning everyone. I sincerely apologize for the late notice, but I need to postpone class tonight. Do you focus on SEO, AEO, GEO?
SEO is no longer the whole game. If you want your content, brand, or business to be found online today, you need to understand the difference between SEO, AEO, and GEO. SEO helps people find you in search engines. AEO helps AI and voice search choose your content as the direct answer. GEO helps AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude cite, reference, and trust your brand. Here is the easiest way to understand it: SEO = Get ranked AEO = Get answered GEO = Get cited SEO focuses on keywords, backlinks, rankings, website traffic, blog posts, and traditional Google search. AEO focuses on clear answers, FAQs, featured snippets, voice search, Google AI Overviews, “People Also Ask,” and zero-click visibility. GEO focuses on being recognized by generative AI platforms through authority, original insights, brand mentions, citations, comparisons, expert content, and trusted sources. The truth is, businesses cannot just write blog posts anymore and hope Google sends traffic. People are searching differently now. They are asking AI tools questions like: “What is the best option for me?” “Who should I trust?” “What company solves this problem?” “What is the difference between these choices?” “What should I buy?” “What expert should I follow?” That means your content has to be easy for humans to read, easy for Google to understand, and easy for AI to quote. The winning content strategy now looks like this: SEO for traffic. AEO for direct answers. GEO for AI visibility and trust. If your business is only focused on keywords, you may be missing the bigger shift. The new goal is not just to rank. The new goal is to become the answer. And even better? To become the source AI trusts enough to recommend. That is where the future of visibility is going.
