Who is still active?
There are way fewer interactions and I haven't heard from Esmé or Dan for quite some time. I feel invested in this community so I'm still hoping it can turn around.

Hi! Dan was sick with Covid for quite a long time in the winter and my husband is having a life-threatening medical crisis for which he’s entering the seventh week of hospitalization, so things have been hard to manage. We just started refocusing on our mentees and Academy students; we hope to be active again in the Café soon. ❤️

@Danne Jobin thank you. it’s a really stressful, sad time, but I love the work that I do, and I care about all of you. I’m just going to do my best. 💕
The Shape of Your Memoir
Hi all, I’m currently sick with a cold and life is still chaos for my family (my husband has been critically ill in the hospital for seven weeks), but I’m very excited to announce that I’ll be teaching a class called The Shape of Your Memoir this month on January 27, 2025. The Shape of Your Memoir is a transformative 1.5-hour class designed to help you uncover and refine the narrative structure of your memoir and/or essay. Whether you’re just beginning or deep into the drafting process, this class will guide you in identifying and addressing cracks in the foundation of your storytelling. You’ll learn how to move beyond a simple chronological recounting of events and shape your writing into a compelling narrative with a beginning, middle, and end—one that resonates with readers and leaves them deeply satisfied. Through practical insights, real-life examples, and actionable tools, you’ll explore how to create a gentle map for your memoir, allowing the story’s natural shape to emerge as you write. As a bonus, the class includes a one-hour co-working session, giving you the chance to apply what you’ve learned, ask questions, and receive real-time support. Join us to transform your collection of facts and anecdotes into a meaningful, cohesive story that captivates readers from start to finish. Recording and transcript available. http://www.esmewang.com/shape-of-your-memoir x esmé

@Hannah Hudson aw thank you Hannah!
Hello!
Hello, everyone! My name is Sydney and I am excited to be a part of this community! I am a Christian author who has self-published two books (my website is storiesoffaithfulness.com) and is working on a third project inspired by Nordic/Viking history. I am also an editor for a Christian publishing company, Ambassador International. In my free time, you can find me making memories with my family, curled up with my favorite book, or spend time training my Miniature Horse.

In your introduction, answer these 4 questions: ➡️ What is your name (preferred pronouns as well, if you don't mind) ➡️ Why did you decide to join The Unexpected Shape Café? ➡️ What is your favorite book? ➡️ What are you interested in writing about? We can’t wait to meet you! If you'd like to share anything else as well, feel free! And welcome!

@Ainna Flaminia Welcome welcome and OH MY GOSH how I loved The Stinky Cheese Man as a child. Children are deeply into silliness a lot of the time and I think it's sad that we lose it as adults sometimes. Glad to have you!
