Great speaking is just great marketing.
A friend of mine recently mentioned that "great marketing is a balance of familiar and unfamiliar". When he mentioned this, I instantly recognized how this applies to speaking. Networking, speeches, presentations, even content creation. For our marketers here - have you recognized the relationship between great speaking and great marketing? Agree? Disagree? (This is Day 3 of a 30-Day Speaking Challenge I'm doing with some of my community members.)

I never used to be a fan of Jimmy Carr until I watched more of his content. Fantastic communicator. And apparently, a thought leader. Here, he talks about how, objectively, we live like kings and queens. And yet, the search for happiness has never seemed to be more difficult in today's day and age. One cognitive reframe. It can be the difference between: - A happy life vs. one constantly searching for fulfilment - A meaningful conversation vs. a fight with your loved one - A successful presentation vs. one that projects nervousness and insecurity So a quick question for you - what are you grateful for, in this very moment, that wouldn't have been possible 50 years ago?

Controversial Question ๐Ÿ™‹
Do you think doing a TED Talk in 2026 overrated? I'm a little anti-TED as I believe impactful speaking can occur in many places, and this shouldn't be the benchmark many public speakers hold themselves to. Nothing wrong with the event or brand at all - just that its value has become synonymous with 'public speaking success', and I feel that should be questioned. Feel free to prove me wrong! Would love to hear your thoughts.
