3 Days of Chemo in 4 Minutes
Ive been fighting cancer this fall and winter. My deer season was destroyed and for me that was the worst part of this whole shitty mess. For the first time in the last 35 years there is no deer meat in our freezer. For the first time in 45 years I missed deer season. Here is a look at what I go though every 2 weeks. Its raw and hard to watch but cancer touches us all and as a retired journalist this is my way of giving back and attemping to shine a light on fighting cancer. This coming Tuesday I have my last session of chemotherapy. I get to ring that damn bell. They gave me 6 months to a year now we are talking 2 to 4 years. I have good days and bad days and my one major take away is this. A good day should be seized like its your last one and for me that's my reality. I love this new venture in traditional archery hunting I just hope to be more engaged in the future. I LOVE BOWHUNTING. That's what is going on my headstone. https://youtu.be/CtCkeasL-uM?si=srPJMbUn5eP78qgf

@John Cazenove thank you. To have a stranger do what you just did, offer some authentic thoughts is prehaps the most uplifting thing that happens to cancer patients. Nothing better then feeling the love.

Finished Hip Quiver
Got the hip quiver all stitched up and completed yesterday while watching the USA women come from behind and win gold in hockey. Once it was finished, I put the neatsfoot oil to it. I learned a lot making this and some things I would do differently. The suede trim can not be oiled with the neatsfoot, which I didn’t know before I started. Had I known, I would have oiled the veg tan leather before sewing in the trim. I would have also waited to punch the holes until it was ready to be put together. The leather shrunk a bit from wetting for tooling and then drying. Overall, a really fun project and didn’t come out too bad for my first large leather/tooling project.

👕 T- Shirt Club Relaunch - Sharpened & Rebuilt
Our T- Shirt Club has quietly become the engine behind this community. And when something becomes the engine - it has to run flawlessly. Over the past few months, as we’ve grown, we hit a few fulfillment friction points. Nothing dramatic - but enough that I wasn’t satisfied. So we did what traditional bowhunters do… We slowed down. We tuned the system. We rebuilt the backend properly. ✔ Cleaned up SKU mapping ✔ Simplified our batch workflow ✔ Improved tracking accuracy ✔ Stress-tested the monthly cycle ✔ Audited recent orders to ensure delivery If you are missing your most recent Shirt Club tee, message me directly @Jenn Richardson and we’ll fix it immediately. No friction. That’s our standard. 🔥 What This Means We are now built to scale the Shirt Club without sacrificing: • Quality • Speed • Accuracy • Member experience No shortcuts. No chaos. No guessing. Just a clean system built to last. 🦌 The Relaunch Starts Now New month. New drop. Tightened execution. If you’re already a founding member - thank you for standing with us while we sharpened the system. If you’ve been thinking about joining - this is the strongest the T- Shirt Club has ever been. Check out all our t-shirt designs so far…. 👉 We are always one month behind in what you see in the monthly campaign as we build the shirts with our members LIVE each month. The campaign closes for that month and then it goes to print in a limited run. Stay tuned for the February T-Shirt release happening next week! Jenn & Grant

85 years and going strong
Had a nice backyard shoot with my mentor - dad yesterday, a rare occasion- (normally a longbow guy) he pulled out his late 80s Ken Beck era Black Widow MAII - 55#- Even with his tremors he can still drop arrows where he wants. I hope I can still shoot when I am his age. This is his 75th year shooting bows.. I began shooting with him at age 3. Time flies… ⏰ 🏹

Well that's pretty damn inspirational!! Black Widow sounds like high poundage also!
Off season reading
So what archery books are you reading or what do you recommend? I’m in the middle of Bows on the little delta and so far I highly recommend it.

Archery has been my passion since I picked a bow up in 1968.
