🧐Are you a coach or a creator first?
Are you a creator first and coach second? Or are you a coach first and a creator second? If you are not sure what this means, you should watch the recording of Sho's workshop, which is now up HERE in the classroom section. This question should be the first you should ask yourself before moving forward with your business, so make sure you have this very clear. If you are not level 2 yet and want to access this recording, comment REPLAY, and I will send it to you. For those who attended, what are your thoughts on this?

Replay - I answered creator first because I see that as the stage I am in while building some engagement on LI. I can see that flipping to coach first as I continue to advance.
💡The different LinkedIn type of posts
Creating content has become an essential task if you are using that strategy to attract clients, but I know how tiring it can be to be consistent with it, especially if you are not getting as many interactions as you expect. However, something to evaluate your post's performance (not only considering the interactions) is knowing the type of post you are sharing and the intention behind it. This is how I classify my posts: - Viral: These will get the most interaction and visibility. It addresses broader subjects and often uses controversial, personal, or motivational topics. - Educational: These posts are meant to educate our audience on the subject matter. The idea is to build credibility for your account and position yourself as an authority. You won't get as many interactions as with a viral post. - CTA: These are the posts that often get less visibility and interaction. They are meant to encourage our audience to do something. (Go to a workshop, attend a sales call) This has helped me build a strategy to balance the type of posts, plan ahead, and get more engagement and leads. Comment STRATEGY if you'd like to receive a workbook with examples of the different types of posts to elevate your copywriting and content strategy. Do you currently have a content strategy using different types of posts?

I do a lot of testing and run series to see how they perform. Now it's posts on career strategy to prepare for new offers in the works. The Copywriting Bible by Josh Fechter is great for post structure on different methods.

Oh.. and tomorrow I'm going to tell people to be a cockroach as a career strategy. Interested to see how that one goes.
Hi, I'm Ed; my brand is Deskside Mentor
I'll provide the short story behind the creation of Deskside Mentor. 1) After being laid off, I did some soul searching on what I enjoyed most about my leadership roles over the last 20+ years. It a nutshell, it was being a career coach to my teams and others. 2) I feel people are getting lost in today's world. We've lost some of the humanity. I wanted to create an experience for people that they had someone walking beside them on their career journey. My starting niche is helping people create an actionable career strategy to guide their decisions instead of going with the flow. I think far too many people have a 'go with the flow' approach to their career. I have a scale and expand strategy roughed out on how I take this start and evolve it further. My personal goal is to never go back to corporate life. I would rather spend my time helping others get the most out of their careers and ultimately life.

Glad to be a part of the group Daniel. I believe you have the right mission to elevate Career Coaching. It's become a dog eat dog world, and I don't think people can trust employers to look after their career any longer.
Feedback please
Hi All, I’m surprised this post didn’t do better … would appreciate any feedback https://www.linkedin.com/posts/heathermaietta_goalsreflection-downloadable-activity-7258436434422894593-5iuS

I have a theory that I'm trying to validate. Longer posts require higher follower counts and engagement. That is, while great content, it could be too long. I'm doing a 100 word challenge for myself over the next 2 weeks or so to see if I see a change. I'm also reading a ton about writing. I am reading Writing That Works and On Writing Well now. This will help me understand if I need more social proof before getting deeper and longer in content. Also, what I can do to tighten up my writing.

Over 30 years of work experience with over 20 of those years in leadership roles is my foundation that fueled my desire to become a career coach.
