Happy Birthday Sid!
Today is Sids Birthday yall! @Sid Woolfolk Ok so Joes New Pizzaria has decided not to open on Sundays anymore so we had to get a new venue for our Monthly Atlanta Guitar Masterclasses. He did find a place and we are picking it up in June. I will be way more active in here after this week yall. I have had two close friends pass away in the last couple weeks in Memphis, one of them was the bassist for Saliva and a friend of Shawns Matt Dees and he passed away yesterday. From Sid and Yes we are about to get him ready to go live as well! Im going to try and hop on tonight or tomorrow night. I'm excited to announce we have a new location for our TYGP Workshop. The next one is scheduled for Sunday, June 7th at Rehearse Live LLC located right off of "Spaghetti Junction". The workshop will be followed by an open jam, and everyone is welcome to play. More details coming soon! Dont forget yall, we have founders pricing back and these courses and premium membership content is absolutely worth it if your on the fence about signing up. Well its less than a dollar a day and there is unreleased Shawn Material in there as well so $29 per month or $300 per year and that will be locked in as long as you stay a member! Also earn money with us or at the very least get your membership paid for by using our affiliate program. Anyone you refer with your code you get 40% of whatever they are signed up for every single month! Skool does this automatically with their program or if you know anyone that might want to start a skool community there are affiliate links for that as well. I pay $100 per month for this community, well we pay as a collective so imagine if you knew people to start their own communities such as maybe @Chris Alexander wanted to start a learn to work on cars community, well if you referred him and he paid the $100 per month every month you would get $40 of that! Help us grow this thing yall, the more members we get the more resources we have where we can dedicate much more time to this and start some of these other projects!

@Nick Mancini My buddy Daniel Jensen in Norway is designing a neck right now with the flat radius of the Vigier and the ratio size but with a super thin wizard cut!

@Chris Alexander yes he endorsed Lexicon for the Jam Man and he had two and also he endorsed Peavy for his processors and he had two of those as well. I believe DR also endorsed him as we always had boxes of their strings in the studio. As far as modeling, even the digitech 2101 would be the predecessor of modelers and Shawn loved playing with toys period but was the first to say exactly what I say. Just because this "model" or "name on headstock", or "amp name" says something dont judge it for that. Find and build the sounds that work for you and dont get caught up in the names of whatever it is. He used my 2101s for a couple shows at one point when he was getting stuff repaired. In his last probably year to maybe 2 years Line 6 had come out with that triple switch delay pedal and Tony Sutton had one of those and Shawn was using that quite a bit and liked it just fine. I know first hand though that he was not picky at all when it came to needing something for gigs. He knew enough about sound and EQ to be able to make most anything work. Many of us get caught up in various boutique pedals or effects or amps, what 99% of sound boils down to is EQ period. Thats the one thing most guitarists don't understand.

@Nick Mancini Since this is a private group, here is where Im at... He is very very very sensitive with anyone criticizing or questioning what he is doing. My buddy Daniel Jensen was also friends with him and still admires his playing but Roy can not stand him now and when I posted this video as a joke and clean fun man he jumped on me fast lol. Daniel and I where on a video call one night and he showed me Roys pic as he has one and it did cause kinda a higher pitch ting sound much like what you hear on Roys videos. Also though on my video when I record at half speed on my looper then put it on full speed it sounds almost identical to him. I hesitate to call him fake but Daniel said that he did admit to editing his videos, but I told him editing means many things. I edit mine all the time for screen shots and cut out dead air and stuff. I made it very obvious the one and only time I ever edited speed but I ADMITTED IT AND MADE IT A JOKE! Shawn used this technique on Kaiser Nancarrow where he digitally programmed a piano roll and sped it up and Buckethead thought he was playing that. As @Bill Oliver mentioned when Shawn got his Jam Man, he would practice recording in reverse then reversing that to normal then playing the normal line over the reversed line and stuff like that and he taught me the recording at half speed trick because the Jam Man especially was very limited in the time you could record. You double your time for recording at half speed. In Icon Shawn did half speed, reverse, then full speed fwd, which would double the speed which his guitar got higher in pitch much like Roy or mine when I shot that video. Now Daniel Jensen has seen him live in person before and he points out that Roy plays differently live and his point is Roy is already a great player and does not need to use any speed up tricks and I will say "IF THAT IS WHAT HE IS DOING". Another question I would ask is if he has speed like this being that clean then why can none of his students do that? I let my playing speak for itself and yes over the last 5 years since my pinky became paralyzed I at times am sloppy compared to the way I use to be but I still dig in and play anyways. I can say this, pull up the videos of some my students ro sids students over the years and you will see we are able to teach these skills. As Shawns student I do have a very very fast technique and also I understood the point of what Shawn wanted to convey as both a teacher and a listener of music. I developed my own sound and style. In fact until very recently I never name dropped Shawn at all unless it was have you ever heard Shawn Lane? I formed my own career as a guitarist with my own merits. I use his name now because this stuff me and Sid are teaching is a direct lineage of what Shawn was visioning for a Music school to truly give the student freedom.
