I did not know that - highlight - then ask for the change. - cool - that stops getting multiple copies of the text! I get such long chats. I do work that ends up producing dozens of pages of text, and the longer the chat goes on, the more off-target ChatGPT gets. So I have started working in a new way. I will use one chat to set up the process that I want to repeat - not one I will do a hundred times - for that I will create a GOT - but one I want to use 12 times or so. So the first one is the setup, and at the end, I will ask Chat GPT to write out a brief for itself that describes our final style and structure. I then paste that into a new chat and continue the work. This means the system does not get lost, and the structure remains the same. If I find the brief is not right, I fix it, then get ChatGPT to refine the brief so the next one is better. It seems to take one or two tries, but then we flow....
