Newbie Addi Lesson (Long)
- When my Addi 22 arrived (Amazon purchase), I questioned if it was truly "new" as ordered. But was so excited to start, I ignored that thought. - Long story shortened, I noticed a cranking "resistance" at a certain location, but thought it was just "it" being "broke" in. Then I noticed a broken needle. Took A22 apart, replaced the needle, and spent 3 days 🙄 trying to put it back together. Watched numerous YouTubes, read numerous pamphlets and discussions, spoke very sweetly to it, then spoke not so sweetly to it 😡. - I learned (perhaps) my A22 machine wasn't "new" based on what the distressed "red" circular part looked like inside. - There are numbers on the "red" circular part which aligns with the needles on your machine, 1-22. - It was our 45th anniversary weekend and after watching me for 3 days, hubby said get yourself a "new" machine, please 😆, which came yesterday. - Still determined to make the first A22 work, I ordered a new red part to hopefully fix it and have a 2nd machine. - Good News, I learned much about my A22 while doing its reconstructive procedure 😆.

My Baby…
….is 34 years old today. 😳😳 I feel old! Lol! I’m going to knit him a beanie and a holster for his gun pellets. Don’t know how but I will try. He loves his Airsoft guns and plays every weekend. He’s asked me for ages to make something for his BB’s so I will try! Happy Birthday Michael

@June E Mackenzie how are you doing today and Do you mostly crochet for fun, gifts, or personal projects?

@June E Mackenzie That’s wonderful, crocheting for fun and making gifts is such a beautiful way to share your talent. Sometimes when people love what we make, it naturally turns into others asking to buy pieces too. Have you ever sold any of your crochet items before, or do people ever ask if they can purchase your work?

I don't have a craft room, so I set up in my livingroom. The kitchen table is here as the kitchen is being remodeled. Where does everyone else do their crafts if you don't have a craft room?

@Tina Bryner That’s beautiful, making pieces for friends and a wedding afghan is so special. You can really feel the love that goes into projects like that. 💖 Honestly, I started the same way too, just as a hobby. But a friend of mine showed me how crochet could actually be turned into a small online income, and I was surprised by how realistic and simple it was. It’s been really helpful for me so far. Have you ever been curious about exploring something like that yourself, even just as a small side option?

@Barbara Amarillas Oh, that sounds great, you’ve got plenty of rest today, that’s perfect! 😊 Wow, no snow in Denver yet, but we’ve had quite a bit here in Canada. Do you crochet just for fun, or are you thinking about turning it into a little side income in the long run?

@Barbara Amarillas I really get what you’re saying, and you’re not alone, so many of us start to feel it in our hands, wrists, or joints after years of crafting. I don’t crochet the way I used to either because of my knee and other little aches, so I completely understand. A friend introduced me to something that’s been really interesting and helpful for me. Instead of needing to physically make everything, I sell crochet-related materials and products through an online store. When someone orders, the supplier ships the product directly to them, and I earn from it. No inventory, no packing, no physical strain. It’s been a really good thing for me so far, and I honestly think it could benefit you too, especially since you already have experience and love for crafting. Would you be curious to learn a little more about how it works and how you could set something like that up for yourself? 😊
