New Here - Roast My About Page
Hey everyone, new here πŸ˜€ I'm literally tiptoeing here not sure of the roasting I will get. Anyway, am transitioning from some years of content writing and have done digital marketing. With AI taking much of all this I want to lean back to my tech training and get into assisting business owners with Tech setup. I do have a website but for starters want to get my community about page roasted. I'm here to learn, get honest feedback (yes, roast away πŸ˜…), improve what I'm building, and connect with people on a similar journey. https://www.skool.com/digital-start-3712/about Looking forward to learning from all of you!

I think you've got a solid foundation. The copy is easy to follow and it's clear who you're trying to help. My biggest suggestion would be to focus a little more on the transformation. Rather than leading with what members will learn, paint a picture of where they'll be after they've been in the community for a while. People join because of the result, not the curriculum. I'd also look at turning some of the feature list into benefit statements. For example, instead of "AI tools and resources," tell people what those tools will help them achieve. Small change, but it makes the value feel much stronger.

@Alice Nj glad i could help, even just a little 😁
2nd Roast Request, reworked my Skool About page
Hey folks, I rewrote the About page to address the points mentioned in the previous thread. I hope I didn't make it worse, lol. I also added an image that shows a sample start-to-finish design. I think I could still improve the images, but it's getting there. Thanks for taking a look. AI Character Academy (link fixed)

I really like the branding and the problem you're solving comes across clearly. If I could offer one suggestion, I'd tighten up the About section a bit. It feels like there's enough content for a full sales page, so some of the key points get repeated. I'd focus on the transformation first, then briefly explain the workflow. With only 1,000 characters to work with, making every sentence earn its place would probably have an even bigger impact. Overall though, it looks really professional.

@Paulo Costa, The Roaster found it, it was this one
Roast Request
Hi folks, please roast my Skool group's About page. My community is focused on Character Design (for games, film, etc) & Avatar Design (AI Influencers & the like), with a bit of virtual fashion to complement the characters. The group is brand-new (launched 2 weeks ago) and my first Skool group. I want to make it the best I can for my community members, so please be brutally honest. All feedback is welcome. Thanks! skool.com/ai-character-academy-2817

@Paulo Costa, The Roaster I think there was another post that I commented on
Totally trying to ditch my techy language
So I polished my about page. What do you think? AI for Online Skool Educators Not sure if the value is clear

The design looks polished and professional, but the page still feels a bit feature-heavy rather than transformation-focused. I understand what I'll get, but I'm not completely convinced why I need it yet. I'd spend more time talking about the challenges Skool owners are facing, what life looks like before joining, and what changes after joining. The hero image also feels more like AI consulting than community building, so there may be an opportunity to align the visuals more closely with the actual promise. I'd also add more personality and founder story. Why did you create this? What problem were you trying to solve? That's often what helps people connect with a new community. Finally, with only a few members, I'd lean harder into the founding member angle and make joining early feel like an advantage rather than focusing on what the community will become later. My biggest observation wasn't actually the headline. It was that after reading the page I knew: - What's inside - Who it's for But I wasn't feeling: - Why this community instead of another AI community? - Why this founder? - Why now? That's usually where the strongest About pages win. They create belief, not just understanding. Humans rarely join communities because of the curriculum. They join because they trust the person, relate to the problem, and want the outcome. The page explains the curriculum well. It could sell the transformation much harder.

My focus is practical AI that helps you stop overthinking, get clear, and actually build the thing.
