How often to you put your own needs last?
When you find yourself having to worry about other people and their needs it can lead to you ignoring or putting aside your needs. If you do so constantly, it can result in a lot of burnout, frustration, anger, and feeling like a victim. So this is your check-in -- how are you doing?

As a Pastor, pouring yourself into others is what we do, if we are not careful, bitterness and resentment can creep in. I've learned to have a regular rhythm of rest that is just for me and my wife. (Every third Sunday, I step away and let someone else lead)

@Marsha Vacca I am blessed to have a Pastor that rents space from us on Saturday nights that is willing to do the 3rd Sunday every month for us. We have had this arrangement for two years now and it has created some great margin for my wife and me. She does the singing, so they also provide a music team for us as well. Yesterday, I went and just sat and listened, no speaking, no participation, just being present, my wife went to a baby shower. 👶

Having been a caregiver for my wife and walking through end of life with others, I have built a confidence in this area.
