@Kerry Hopkins Yeah those are from VidIQ/Tubebuddy, those metrics were useful in the past (kind of) but don't really matter now a days. They just never updated the tools/software to keep people following their "best practices." Which don't get me wrong I still have the habit of tag matching and making sure some of those metrics line up, but in the end the only SEO that matters is Title and Description.

  • 0 likes • 19d

@Kerry Hopkins You can copy/paste the first 2-3 paragraphs of your script, give a strong overview, or give extra info that wasn't in the video "bonus tips" or w/e. With SEO in mind focus on 2 - 3 keywords/phrases, I typically try to squeeze in that keyword multiple times within the 2-3+ paragraph. You could even ask yourself a common/specific question people are searching to grab other keywords. Pick your keywords and will focus on writing with them and similar terms in the description. Don't focus to hard on SEO, focus on making better Thumbnails > Videos > Titles

Currently there are only 3 ways to get points on Skool... 1) You can make posts in the community and hope to get likes on your posts. 2) You can comment on posts and hope to get likes on your comments. 3) You can reply to to comments and hope to get likes on your replies. But what if you're an introvert or lone wolf who doesn't want to make posts, comment, or reply? Or what if you're just mega focused on course work and feel the community is a distraction/waste of time? Or what if a community is 'dead' and doesn't give you the likes you deserve? Or what if you don't speak English that well and suck at interacting w other people in english? How can you get points, level up and access new course material or the bonuses then? You can't. Or at least, not very well. Because you're relying soley on other people's approval and validation for your progress. And that's an issue. Because most of my membership materials & bonuses get unlocked as you level up... and I've already had several members in my community reach out to me and tell me they want to level up but don't want to make posts, comment, or reply just to get points. + I'm part of a Skool group with only 15 members, only 5 of which are active, so it makes it incredibly hard to get points & level up. So what's the solution? What if you could also get points by watching course material? Call em "Progress Points" Or what if you could also get +1 point each week just by remaining a member? Call em "Member Loyalty Points" Or what if you could also get points by completing a quiz? Call em "Quiz Completion Points" These are just some ideas. Happy to hear yours below.

I like where this is going, I think the system right now is fine for Active communities but like you said the only way to level up is for OTHER PEOPLE to engage with you. If you got X points added for completing certain lessons or even points for just getting on Skool consistently. We can already track users activity, why not reward those who are on with new milestones the longer they consistently get on. Another way, I know the gem rewards were removed. But if a community members gives a valuable post, maybe let a mod+ give that post creator a "Bonus" amount of points. Lastly below/above the leaderboard, it would be neat to see who hit X new level milestones recently.

With a clock in feature there will be that crowd that clocks in and never clock out just for points. If it can be broken/cheated people will find a way

Hey all. I've started using Skool as a front-end marketing group instead of a back-end product group. Is anyone else doing this? Attached is the model I'm using. The key differences to the model most in here use: - No ads - No direct outreach - No sales tactics - No content treadmill - Focus on audience building (specifically YouTube) - Focus on community - Using Skool as a marketing community, not product community I ran the new model past Sam and he said he liked it! I also asked for permission to post this here and he said yes. I think this new model is a game-changer for getting to $100k/m profit. I know it's quite difficult to get the full picture from the image, so if you need more info then just comment "Loom" and I'll send you a Loom fully explaining the model. Hope it helps.

    @Sam Ovens ETA on Replay?

Would it be possible to add a only members of certain level & only some members have access to specific categories in the community section? This allows the classroom membership only feature much more exclusive and drive members to engage just to get more access or pay for the upgrade (or separate course).

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe Yeah, I didn't figure it would be an easy task to implement. I was just thinking if I have a community that is free to join, but I want to add paid content for the same community it would be nice to have a category they can ask specific questions w/o being available to the free members. Discussion under a video module inside a classroom might be the only option for the time being. Just weighing my options going forward, trying and testing what works best.

I’m brand new to Skool. Joined last week and created my first group. I have around 15 clients getting great results and they all love skool ready to scale up to 75+ before 2023

This is a really great community, you are in the right place @Dom Summers

Could I get some clarification on the filters because I notice that the filter always defaults to recent activity but never shows me new posts only the most engaged posts. Since I engage with every post, I get notifications when someone comments on older posts but never new ones. Is there a way I can change my default filters, or turn on all notifications for a group (as admin or reg member) without having to filter to newest posts everytime? I find myself never using recent activity because it is never new or "relevant" content.

Not sure if this is a bug or not, when you go to your profile and click on Followers. They are all grayed out. However if you go directly from Group > Profile > Followers, you CAN msg but only those in that group.

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe The first one being Profile > Edit Profile > Image Drop Down > Profile > Followers

Are there plans down the road for people to find other communities on Skool via search/recommendation? Assuming there is a search for communities, we would likely need to have a feature to label our community "niche." Or even allow individuals to recommend communities via their profiles. Excited for the upcoming announcements!

I was catching back up on some posts in a few communities via my phone and noticed I can't zoom in Skool. Would it be possible to add a zoom feature, at least for image posts that are hard to read because it is a text screenshot.

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe yeah it wasnt working for me, I'm on a S10 using Chrome

Would be great if Skool would be SCORM or xApi (Learning Management Systems standards) compliant so course content from other LMS systems can be imported to Skool.

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe It's very easy I set mine up as well, but if you have more than 50 modules I would definitely hire a VA. Do a couple yourself so you are familiar with how the process works then have them do the rest.

Would there be any way we could darken the link text in the Community About section? I feel if the text was darker or a different color it would improve CTR. I could be completely wrong but I know older folks or anyone with poor vision will have a harder time seeing them.

I work too much... Awesome Q&A guys, lots of great requests! Getting affiliate CSV files would be super helpful.

Now you can earn 40% of monthly recurring revenue by referring people to Skool. Refer 3 people and Skool becomes an income stream, not a cost. Watch the video below to see how it works. How to refer people: Go to "User settings" --> "Referrals" tab --> Copy/paste your referral link --> Done! Note: You can only refer people if you've got a paid group on Skool. Check it out and let us know what you think? 💰💰💰

I saw that there are now multiple classrooms in this Skool community now, this is AWESOME! I am curious if these are just for testing purposes or if new/exclusive content will be updated inside these classrooms. Love the idea of Skool HQ and other future events that could happen, very cool stuff.

When I switch the thumbnail on my Bunny video it doesn't change in the Skool embed. Steps to reproduce: 1. Add Bunny video to Skool. 2. Load Bunny embed in Skool to verify thumbnail. 3. Change thumbnail in Bunny admin interface. 4. Refresh Bunny embed in Skool. Thumbnail has not updated.

Try deleting the video link, saving, the repasting the updated link that has the video thumbnail.

I'm considering hosting my course on Skool, right now it's on Kajabi. I have over 50 videos and 250+ members who've paid £997. Problem is, someone can easily share my entire course as the links aren't hidden behind the group entry screen. I really want to host here but I need to ensure my content doesn't get pirated. My course has been requested a few times on piracy websites but it's hosted privately on Kajabi so it's well protected. I'd just love this feature on here. Just a screen that says - "You must be a member of this group to see this classroom" Would love to hear your thoughts @Sid Sahasrabuddhe @Nick Guadagnoli

I noticed you have the option to create a public or a private group, where public groups can be found via the search. Are there any free groups besides this Skool Community? If so it would be nice to see other Public communities via recommendation (or even a Public tab) because I have not been able to find any via search.

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe could you touch up on public groups? People have access to the modules as long as they don't have a level or specific requirement in place?

  • 1 like • Aug 24

@Mareya Ali There are public groups, but unless you have the direct link its hard to find. I am wanting to create a 2nd Skool that is public, but I am not sure if I like the links/text visible by non members (at least inside modules)

Would it be possible to add in auto module complete when they click on to a new section? It is really hard to track course progression if they don't click on "Mark as Done" They can always go back and uncheck Mark as Done, or even add a favorites button next to a lesson for them to go back to.

@David Jones For those lessons that are so good you keep going back to watch them again :P

I noticed you can still see module descriptions and links, even if you don't meet the requirements to access. Would it be possible to hide these? I plan on using the level access to give away templates which would require this information confidential until they meet the requirements.

Would it be possible to create a filter/category for posts containing media files, or links attached? I notice posts with media get a lot more engagement, and I can see a lot more people wanting to filter just for these types of content.

After implementing this prize strategy, our engagement increased tremendously. After the first one the community didn't need it anymore because it went so well but we continued it just to reward the most active member.

The problem we had, its the same 5 people engaging the most, some were just posting to get the prizes. I cant tell if it discouraged others from engaging or that they weren't gonna engage regardless of reward.

I get asked everyday if there's a skool app haha Just wondering if theres a tentative date for when it will be released. I know it's currently on the road map. Thanks!

If you create open up Skool with Safari/Chrome and click the share button, you can add that URL to your home screen as a sort of "app"

I am having a problem using Bunny.net's video streaming capabilities. In order to use my content on my website, I have to disable Direct Play. Then what you would do is convert the HLS url into an MP4 url. Problem is when I do that I can't use my videos with the MP4 conversion (unless I turn Direct Play back on). Doing this disables the videos on my website, which is definitely causing a headache. Would it be possible to allow/enable mp4 urls?

I may end up just using the embedded on my site otherwise I can NOT disable download.

  • 1 like • Aug 11

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe Yes they are fast, I was working with them last night and got as far as I could with them. I can only use embed w/o giving away the security of the content. Direct link with MP4 disables MediaCage DRM, and for some reason direct play does not work on my site (built with Elementor). I was having issues getting direct play to even work on Skool, but have not tested since disabling it. My best bet for now is unfortunately to create a Vimeo account to host videos on my site, unless Elementor or Bunnynet updates integration. That is why my question earlier about adding specific access to community categories could help alleviate some of these issues. Allowing me to host all my content here on Skool instead of splitting it free vs paid.
