Dog Adopting Question
Hi all, I am participating in a workshop and was posed a great question, so I am going to ask you all a few questions. For those of you a adopted a dog from a shelter or rescue, what process did you use? Did you just go to a shelter or did you do research first? Was it your first dog? Did you plan ahead, or just go to get a dog and then went on from there. For those of you who went to a breeder, what was your process for this route? What was the decision making process you used to pick you specific breed of dog that you wanted? Last question: If you had a " Dog Adoption guide", would it have made things easier for you in the process of bringing your dog home?

I bought from an amazing breeder but I took a long time in researching. I knew I wanted a poodle because my daughter and I struggle with allergies and poodles don't shed and are really good for those with allergies. I researched breeders from the south of Florida all the way through Georgia, Alabama and was willing to drive. I really wanted to know that the puppies were well taken care of and that it was not a backyard breeder but someone who really loved their dogs. I actually ended up finding a breeder that lived 5 minutes from me at the time! I was able to see her house and visit her and meet her dogs and when my puppy was born, I got to visit every week up until the time I took her home. It was the most amazing experience! It's the first dog I've owned as an adult. I think a dog adoption guide would be amazing especially for what to expect when you bring your puppy home in those first few months.
Funny thing your dog did this week
Hey everyone, tell us all 1 funny thing your dog did this week! My dog Penny was looking out our front window barking at a squirrel, on right front of my house, and as he ran across my front yard, right to left, Penny ran from that side of the house, into my office on the left side of the house, to my office window, in an attempt to "chase" the squirrel!

Oh my gosh that is so cute! My dog Journey gets worried if I try to exercise or stretch on the ground. She dives under me and tries to lift me up. It's actually very sweet!
New things coming!
Hi all, I wanted to thank everyone for joining the group! I am working with a mentor, and there will be some new things coming to this group in the next few weeks, so stay tuned!
