10 contributions to Skool Community

Hey, My name is Josh Gavin. As per request, I'm here to share how I'm using a $27 offer to fill my Skool group with members who engage, collaborate and upsell into my $3k+ offers. To give you some history... I grew a Facebook group to 5200 members and collected $486,000 cash from it without running a single paid ad. But while I was doing this I noticed my homies over at Clients & Community had invented this new concept of running ads to a lead magnet which would then point to a free group. So after some time, this method became very popular which meant new problems appeared. But here I was... Growing just as fast as everyone else without running paid ads. So I decided to launch an LTO (low ticket offer) as a side mission to teach all these struggling group owners how to get new members without ads. I never planned on this becoming my main offer since I hated the thought of becoming another one of those 'coaches' who help 'coaches' with organic marketing lol But here I was with a method no one else was teaching... So I launched it! And just 30 days later I enrolled over 200 people at $27 + 40 people into a sass upsell. Using my V1 funnel here: https://www.organicgroupmethod.com/join Then I decided I wanted to take this more seriously and increase my AOV as I started learning more from the LTO God himself Alen Sultanic... So I added new upsells and launch V2 which you can find here: https://www.organicgroupmethod.com/offer Then in December, I launched V3 which you can find here: https://www.organicgroupmethod.com/launch But hereโ€™s where things get spicyโ€ฆ Although I believe Facebook is still better for a free group since you can get more attention to funnel people into sales conversationโ€ฆ I donโ€™t like FB as a client portal for paid productsโ€ฆ

@Josh Gavin Did you build your Facebook group using the free value posts on Facebook + cold DMs? Do most of your LTO Skool members come from this group?
Don't make this mistake
A while ago, I optimised to grow the number of members in my community. This was a mistake. Quality of discussion dropped. The core members of my community left and started a group chat. The community started to suck. So now I'm rejecting 95%+ of people who apply to join the community. And focusing on quality again. The quality of your audience matters a lot more than the size of your audience Was prompted to share this when I saw the results of @Blake La Grange's poll.

@Andrew Kirby - What were you doing when you "optimized" your group for growing numbers versus now with rejecting 95% of the applicants? Were you just accepting all applicants or was there another specific change?
New Member Questions / Zapier
The first time I configured my new member questions and Zapier they worked and Zapier fired when a new user registered. I changed my questions, and also reconnected Zapier, but Zapier is no longer firing when a new member joins my community. Is there a way to refresh the connection on the Skool side so that it pushes information to the new zap connection?

@Nick Guadagnoli thanks for the reply! Yes, actually I had a couple of days in between configuration and trying.

No need @Nick Guadagnoli ! Two details that I did not realize: 1. You have to accept the new member to the skool community for the zap to fire. 2. The zap doesn't seem to fire if the test account was previously used, accepted, kicked from the group and then tried to re-approve.
Leaderboard Level Increments/points needed
Does anyone have an idea of how to come up with apprpriare amounts of points needed to reach each level? I havenโ€™t noticed a way to easily see how many points are needed for each level in a community. I get that this is completely subjective, just curious about the success of others!

Perfect, thank you @Sid Sahasrabuddhe !
โ“Tracking Tags, pixels, and traffic
I am thinking of embedding a free skool group in an iframe on a website in order to utilize tracking tags. Has anyone thought of a better way to implement tracking tools?

I am going to build a free community around a very specific topic in real estate. I think the Skool said that it indexes the free sites with Google. My use case is tracking organically generated search traffic (or lack thereof) but i already know people search these topics. I am planning on putting my free site on a custom domain. Maybe one day I will have thousands of answered questions and generate large amounts of organic traffic which I could then retarget. How else do you know how much traffic your free group is receiving if the users arenโ€™t registering?

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe Yes, the users who register are easy to count. I am trying to figure out if it is possible or worth tracking the people who visit the free Skool group but donโ€™t register. Maybe they just browse answers.
