Instagram 🤨
A midlife woman I know just posted on Threads about how she’s so sick of trying on Instagram and getting nowhere. I posted that I think Instagram is a big old waste of time (especially for attracting new people). The number of replies trying to get her to keep on wasting her time was very high. Now I know most of them are probably trying to sell her something Instagram related. But why are so many digging their heels in when it comes to Instagram? And are we, as midlife women less willing to let our lives be dictated by a social media app. Hence we are here instead. Maybe it’s also a generational thing because we remember what life was like before we were dictated to by algorithms. Anyway. I just thought it was interesting and wanted to see what you all think.

@Amy Hardie it raises a bigger topic about feeling like you “have to do” or “at all costs”. That’s never the case. I stopped being on social media this year for 5 months and doubled my business over last year. Now upon reflection it wasn’t a case of being “off”… it was just consuming my time and I didn’t have an automated workflow to help me. Last point, you do need to drive traffic to your community, so if it’s not Instagram or social media, then you need to replace it with something else: - long form content - Collaborations like summits. Podcast swaps, bundles - Ads

@Amy Hardie YouTube and Skool work well together
Which social channel do you use to drive traffic to your Skool? 🚗
So, we've had our Skool group going for 3-4 months now and growing steadily due to heaps of summit and bundle appearances 😄. We know we need to get a wiggle on with sorting out our social media activity. It's kinda taken a back seat amongst all the app development and Skool establishment. What I'd love to know is which channels you use to drive traffic to your own communities. I'm sure many of you use more than one (and Skool's polling tool doesn't let us choose more than one option) so just pick whichever one is most successful for you. Do let me know in the comments why you prefer your particular option and why it works so well for you. I have my own preferences going into this choice, but I wanted to get a really unbiased view from you all, and to see if there were angles I had not considered or maybe ignored. Thank you!
