when stuff gets heavy..........
🛠️ Real Talk for Business Owners: Every one of us has that moment where the business feels heavy — quotes piling up, customers waiting, no time to breathe. So here’s the question: When your business feels overwhelming, what’s your go-to move to get back in control? Your answer could help someone else who’s in that same place right now. This group works because we don’t pretend to have it all together — we grow together.

-Honesty, communication and making a quick decision to take action to letting customers that there will be delays -If there is too much quotes then you might need to transition to charging for call-out to quote depending on size of job and then taking it off the final bill if job gets accepted -Reject jobs until you can come back into control and suck it up finish jobs. If I have to prepare for some days off, it will be a calculated move
Glad to Join and Learn From Other Handyman Business Builders
Hi everyone, Great to be here. I work in business consulting, mainly helping entrepreneurs set up solid foundations and scale with clarity. While my background is not specifically in the handyman industry, I’m very familiar with the challenges service-based businesses face structuring operations, pricing correctly, staying compliant, managing cash flow, and creating systems that make the business run smoothly. I joined this community because I’m interested in how trades and service pros build sustainable, well-organized businesses. I’m here to learn from those with hands-on experience, share insights when relevant, and contribute to conversations around strategy, operations, and business structure. Looking forward to connecting with you all and learning what’s working for you in the handyman space.

Recently we started using Google Calendar for booking in jobs. We used to use a white board which limited us. It has really helped us keep track of things

Hey Tim, I am cut on site carpenter by trade in Australia and have expanded my skills through renovations and learning from others. I have a team which are multi-skilled and I am open to gaining more knowledge on trade skills for example learning how other countries work and running the business efficiently. To see if I can correct any mistakes I make and grow
What is the focus when.......
When you have a conversation do you first seek to understand or do you seek to rebuttal?
