Any Small Wins?
Does anybody have any wins this week even if they are 'small'? My small win is I met a Co-Founder of a global business this week and although we were discussing the job brief, it made me think about how narrow we can be in our thinking. For example, shifting my mindset from, how can I get 50 CFOs to a webinar to how can I get 50% of the UK CFO population to a webinar. Same numbers šŸ˜‡ but a very different outcome. @Naomi Hurst at least it has helped to move you forward which is always a positive. I think I read you had two part-time Interim contracts for a few months so well done creating/landing those opportunities.

I spoke to Robert Baker at The CFO Practice this week. Q1-26 has been busy for him. Q4-25 was quiet. Although it's 'phasing' the point is this... hiring is picking up. People are getting approached. Then their notices will land. Then there’s a second wave when gaps appear at CFO level. If your LinkedIn profile isn’t right, you’re on the back foot. A shout out to @James Hubbard who has turned his profile around using SKOOL in under a week. And he has three kids. Now he's firmly onto networking and coffee chats. It’s not a big job. But leaving it is a big mistake especially as you've got two bites at the cherry IMO. Can you show a badge for more than 1 institution in your profile header?
Hi David, I've been working my way through the LI Bootcamp since attending your webinar last week. It's full of great ideas and pointers which I have already implemented in my profile, so many thanks for that. One thing I wanted to check is on the profile/header section where you can showcase your education and it pulls through the badge relating to your institution...can you have more than 1 institution showing? Reason for asking is that I would like to get maximum bragging rights (!) from showing Warwick Business School as well as the ACCA in my headline! Is this possible? Thanks

Hi @Paul Hanley love your honesty! And yes who doesn't want to brag. Unfortunately you can only add one from the educational section. Obviously I can see that you've got the letters after your name which is good. Three ideas: 1. Banner - You could create a banner which contains ACCA and MBA to dial-up the bragging rights though! 2. Private Equity - on your profile you have "P/E" if I were I would ensure you have P/E, PE or even Private Equity in your about section to cover your bases. 3. Skills - I only looked quickly (so apologies if I missed it) but can you double check Private Equity is added under your skills section. Nice use of Projects by the way!

"Thought Leadership"
This community is now 87 people so rather than me trying to share people's individual wins and fail miserably (when I miss somebody), instead I'm going to share a win for myself which is relevant to everybody in this group. And who knows you may share one of your own? šŸ¤ž On Sunday I was messaged by a lady in America. She had a specific problem (Finance Recruitment) and wanted to talk with me. Initially I thought it was spam but when reviewing her profile it looked real especially when there was a video of her on CNN news. When I asked her, how she found me she said; 1. it was via a LinkedIn search and 2. I then looked for somebody who I considered as a thought leader in finance recruitment and is able to solve my exact problem. Now, this links back to everybody here; Visibility | Impact | Awareness. She may have found me and decided not to message me which is the same for executive recruiters and your profile. Just because you are visible does not mean that you will be contacted. Therefore in 2026 where social media and LinkedIn enables us to connect, your 'shop window' needs to be attractive for people to stop, consider and reach out to you.
