Introducing two new features for courses: 1. Drip — Now you can drip course content to your members over time. When adding/editing a module, turn drip on, and enter the number of days you want to module to drip after. 2. Course permissions — Now you can give some of your members access to course A, but not course B. When adding/editing a course, set permissions to "All members have access" (default), or "Only some members have access". To give specific members access, find the member from the member's list, click the "..." menu, click "Manage access", and select the course from there. These were two of the most requested features we've had, so I hope you guys like them! Check it out and let us know what you think. Enjoy!
Sometimes you need to express a feeling, but words alone can’t quite do it. Now you can add GIFs to Posts, Comments, Replies, and Chats! Just click the GIF button, type your keyword, find the perfect GIF, and it will attach to the post or comment you are writing. Comment below with a GIF! Thanks team! 🙌
@Eduard Dumee GIFs were requested by a lot of members with active groups. Sam and his crew are all about keeping things simple and also put some research in before releasing new features. But they also like to please their customers. This was a feature requested to give our members the chance to express themselves a little bit more visual 😉
I'd love to be able to add a header image to the top of modules. Right now the only visual we can add is a video thumbnail if w upload a video. But for certain modules we have no video, and without any image at the top it looks & feels kinda lame... Just my 2 cents :) Would also love: • Ability to set 'drip' on SETS not just modules • Drag & drop module re organization • Ability to turn off progress tracker for certain sets
I'd like to vote for header image as well. From our experience those sets without video/image often gets ignored. We have mainly visual learners (design people). Eg "resources" or "FAQs" no need for a video, but would be nice to see what's in there. And yes, I agree to the other points as well. - Drag & Drop: After using Skool for a while now, we noticed that some modules or sets need to go further up, just because our members need help with a certain topic way earlier. - Progress Tracker: We have a separate course for Live Call Recordings, so it works like an archive. But it's really discouraging when members see their total % being pretty low, just because they didn't tick the boxes for the live calls.
None of my members I spoke with had any interest whatsoever in the “gamification” of this platform and a few were actually annoyed by it. I certainly don't want to see my "level" by my name and im guessing others don't as well. Just wanted to share some feedback. 🤷♂️
Is it possible to show more than 2 lines in the course description, classroom overview. In the editing box, it allows us 2000 symbols, but that doesn't really help, if only 2 lines of it are showing up. 🙏 For now, I shortened it, but some courses can't be so easily described in such a short manner, especially not in German 😅.
@Yusef Smith You can collect them in an "Help" Post and put a Link to that "Quick Help or 101 guide" post under the link section. Also we advise members to post directly under that module as it will create a hashtag automatically and will be seen in the community AND under that module.
Hey guys, what do I need to do, to COMPLETE delete an EX-members name of the Skool-list? This member: Christina Dzuban wants to be deleted - also from Google, if you google her name: https://www.skool.com/@petroula-silbernagl-4729?t=followers
Hey Quirin, cool that you guys are using Skool now as well. To me it looks like you actually don't have an admin account. Usually you would have 3 dots in a box next to the name and than you can decide to remove, ban,... that member. Not sure about Google though, never checked on that once we remove that person. If you have more questions let me know and I can also explain it in German or share my screen.
@Sid Sahasrabuddhe asked me about text formatting options and I just noticed that some of you just might need some more tipps of what's already possible to highlight text and make certain content more visible for your students. Besides Heading, bold and italic I don't need a lot of features. I love that Skool keep things simple, but for very long text content it might be very helpful. Anyways here some ideas: 1. bullet points are already possible: Press "*" and then "spacebar" 2. You can use emojis like number symbols or colored dots (@Ted Carr 🙏) 3. If you need more emojis, just press "control+command+spacebar" (Mac)
Hate figuring out new tech? Me too. Makes my brain hurt. Think setting up a new Skool group will take awhile? I thought the same. Put it off for weeks. Searchie, Circle, Kartra, Podia, Kajabi & Mighty Networks all let me down, so why would Skool be any different? One word: 'Sam-Ovens' (that's a word, right?) Want to see how easy setting up a new Skool group can be? I just set up a brand new Skool group from scratch, and I recorded the whole process. If you follow the steps in this vid, you'll be fully set up & ready to welcome new members in less than 10 minutes. So sit back & relax, grab yourself a free 14 day Skool trial, and follow along as I take you through all of the key settings and configurations you need to launch a brand new Skool group from scratch - in less than 10 minutes!
Can we please get a "Teds cool Skool lessons" category? 🙏 @Ted Carr you're always an awesome source of knowledge and it's inspiring how much you share with this community. BIG 👍 from me! Just on a side note. We set up the call recordings as a separate course. That way you can sort it by years or topics. It's like an archive.
The new metrics feature is really interesting and helpful, but I'm wondering if it's possible to actually remove our employees from that metrics. In our bigger group 400+ it might not have such a big impact, if 5-7 people are showing up, but in our smaller mastery group >100 this might influence the numbers. But this probably also means that we would need to assign a certain role to them firsthand.
Hey Skool Team, I would love an option to add titles to peoples names... For example, I want my students to know who the Tech support guy is in the group. If we could add something to their name like "Bill Stevens (Tech Support)" my students would know who to reach out to and who I have assigned that role. Same things with student coaches..."Sarah Smith (Coach)" And this could go on for all types of roles! Is this a possibility? Changing names on Skool is super hard, so I feel like admins should be able to do something like this for certain roles. I would love this feature!
@Sid Sahasrabuddhe The point is that new students or who are returning, don't know that you are one of the coaches or host unless they go to your profile. E.g. my colleague does support, so people should be able to see that they can write her instead of me, so it needs to be in the title.
Now you can monitor the health of your group with three simple metrics: 1. Total members: How many members are in your group over time 2. Active members: How many members visit your group on a monthly, weekly, or daily basis 3. Daily activity: How active your group is daily over a 365 day period I think we all agree, the most important metric is active members. It's a measure of engagement. Check out your own group metrics and let me know what you think in the comments?
@Ted Carr 92% is awesome. We have different sized groups and we're only reaching roughly 60%. But we changed a few things over the last few months and our numbers in Live Calls and Community posts are increasing (wrote it down manually). Basic Info: Our main group has lifetime access What we did: - use broadcast update to inform students about upcoming live calls with special topics - replaced one Q&A session with mindset & productivity Live Call after we noticed that these are recurring topics - sending out Community Catch Ups including new product features or updates (time stamps, new material, etc.) - More Customer Success Calls and/or E-Mails - Giving out litte gifts (books) on high ranking members on the leadership board - polls - we use them and I taught our student to use them, when asking for certain feedback But I'm really open for more ideas. Especially with our high-ticket group the engagement is pretty low as they also have access to the bigger group. But working on that. Trying to get them engaged with polls and finding out what they are looking for.
Hi, the new feature to host our online course/program on Skool is awesome, however would love to see greater functionality in the ability to edit/format the description of modules within the course. Shown in the image attached.
I deleted a members post just now because they were just promoting an affiliate link for some random app they use. And in our rules, we say: No promotion of affiliate links or your own programs. When I deleted it, I was hoping for a pop up box that would let me explain to the user why it was deleted, so she wouldn't do it again. Does a user get notified when their post is deleted? If so, can we have a seamless way of explaining to them why it was deleted - like a pop up with a text box? Thanks!
@Ted Carr I totally get no. 2. E.g. members don't always get access to chat with the all admins, as they should address their issue in the group and we do have a support email address. But as soon as you (admin) write them, the channel is open both ways.
Hi everyone. I'm new to Skool. Is there any way to have an image in the post, like on a Facebook post? I'd also like our posted videos to have a full-sized preview rather than a thumbnail. Is this possible? People are very visual, and our team uses many images, videos, and gifs in our Facebook groups.
I hear you. I would prefer a full-sized image as well, as we have many visual learners (designers). But at the moment it will only appear as a thumbnail next to the text. My solution for now is to make them more striking, so they really stand out colorwise.
I might be missing something.. But is it possible to add images (like a tutorial with step by step screenshots) and format text (bolding, underlining, linking, font size, etc) to the lesson text? Some of my lessons have screenshots showing how to set things up and different "sections" of text where I bold the headline or something. Thank you!
I know @Sam Ovens does not want to build another zoom, but is there a way we can display a ZOOM or GOOGLE MEET LIVE inside Skool in the same way we use vimeo/wistia to display it inside skool This would bring SO MUCH value and so much engagement in our community.. but from a technical standpoint, i don't really know if it's doable or not
We actually changed our link section and made it easier for people to see the live calls straight away and included the zoom link. Also the color coding like @Ted Carr recommended was very helpful to our members and increased the number of attendees. It became easier to discover when the next calls are happening.
At least a "draft" feature would be nice, @Sid Sahasrabuddhe 🙏. E.g.: - when I'm away and a post for an event or certain day needs to be released, my colleagues can just hit publish. At the moment, I need to send all the details in an e-mail. Then they need to copy/paste it, get it in the right group, etc. Way more clicks. - I like to work in batches, just to be in the flow for certain topics. We do motivation posts or other engagement driving posts on certain days.
In this video, I show you 10 little tips/tricks to make your Skool experience better :) 😀 Here’s an overview of what’s covered... Note: The 10th one is my favourite because I discovered it by accident and use it a lot! 1. The Search Feature (I forgot to mention you can also use the search feature to see which users have that keyword in their profile, and which course modules have used that keyword in their description.) 2. Hide/Unhide a Pinned Post 3. Invite members via link, bulk, or single email 4. Bulk drag & drop content into comments & posts 5. Profile color means nada if you have an icon/cover set up 6. Best Links: Now, During, Upsell 7. Color coating calendar events 8. Calendar future proofing on Zoom 9. Moving modules up/down 10. Description link trick If you know of any cool Skool tips/tricks, make a vid and share your secrets! 🥳 Big thanks to the team behind Skool for making this platform a reality 😍.
Hi, i was thinking that can be nice for my community that some of them can create events meetings on the calendar where others students can join is it possible?in case not is possible to add this feature in future?
@Sid Sahasrabuddhe That bothers us as well. We don't want to spam them, but eg. we announce the topic of the Monday Live Call, but if we have another announcement off topic or off schedule, we would have to wait another week.
@Sid Sahasrabuddhe It will just show up as a headline, if I use the calendar and I needed to put more info in it. See, we had a 8 week starter challenge and every week I would post about the topics and how to prepare or add material. My boss @Alexander Heeg recommended to use our newsletter tool "drip" in the mean time. But I also heard the "digest Email option" in the office hour video. But that's something each user would need to choose in their settings, right?
