Feedback for Seamas’ Class
This feedback is long overdue. 5 days ago I was on a call with Sandy and Seamas. Really really good conversation not a single second felt awkward, which totally not something I was expecting. Seamas is great at asking questions that make you really think and help the students get into deeper conversations. Honestly really surprised because not many teachers are able to be this conversational. When you’re trying to learn a language this is the perfect scenario for having a very conversational teacher. You wouldn’t want to practice talking to someone you don’t enjoy talking to. So guys if you have the time you gotta reach out to Seamas and have a chat. Peace out.

Today, I would like to thank my teacher Ruolan for letting me find the direction of learning again. She often encourages us to express our ideas and give us practical feedback, so that we can learn new knowledge and gradually build self-confidence in the process of growing up.She is my role model!

“I Am Becoming Fluent..." "我正在變得越來越流利地說英文"
Mindset: Can You Edit Your Mental Software? 中文在下面 When we strengthen our awareness, we can learn to edit our mental software. One way to do this is through "Affirmations". Whenever you say "I am" followed by other words, those words become your reality. Have you heard yourself say: "I'm hopeless", "I'm a loser", "I can't get it together", I'll never be able to do this", or anything similar? If so, you might have found that your thoughts became true. "If you say you can, or you say you can't, I believe you." It's called "self-fulfilling prophecy". I grew up in a culture that taught me negative self-talk. I learned as a young adult that talking in this way creates "self-imposed limitations". Overcoming these limitations is part of my life's work. I discovered that I could program my thoughts and feelings for favorable outcomes. I'll give you an example of how I apply this in my life. When I first arrived in Taiwan, I knew a few hundred words of Mandarin. They were not everyday words. They were names of acupressure points and herbs. When I got here I said to myself: "I am becoming fluent in Chinese." I said this every day for my first year in Taiwan. "I am becoming fluent in Chinese." "I am becoming fluent in Chinese." Even when I felt frustration, I acted as if it was true. I was becoming fluent in Chinese. I reminded myself, again and again, every day. I often embarrassed myself. Sometimes I didn't even know. If I knew, I would take a step back, inquire and assess my mistake. I kept going. I acted as if I was fluent, sometimes with good results. At other times, I experienced mixed results, and occasionally, blank stares or outright avoidance. You can do this for yourself. Say to yourself every day: "I am becoming fluent in English." Try it!
