I’m sure you’ve seen the headlines by now. Anthropic just raised $65 billion at a $965 billion valuation. Their revenue went from $1 billion to $47 billion in basically no time. It’s crazy numbers, but let's look past the tech-bro hype and talk about what this actually means for our businesses. When a company raises that much cash to buy up datacenters, they aren’t trying to keep AI expensive. They’re doing the exact opposite. They are scaling up so they can completely crash the price of raw intelligence. The cost of high-level AI reasoning is about to plummet to basically zero. If you’re a solopreneur building smart workflows, this is incredible. But if you’re a traditional software company? You should probably be terrified. Think about all those random software tools you pay $50 to $150 a month for. Most of them are just pretty interfaces sitting on top of basic databases. They charge you a premium for features that a single, highly capable AI agent can now do for pennies. When the cost of intelligence hits zero, a massive chunk of the software we use every day becomes obsolete. We’re moving away from buying standard software apps and moving toward building actual "Agents as a Service." The winners next year aren't going to be the people hoarding a massive stack of software subscriptions. It’s going to be the operators who know how to stitch raw, cheap compute into custom digital employees that handle their operations for them. If your plan is to just keep buying off-the-shelf tools and connecting them with basic Zapier links, your business setup is going to feel very outdated, very fast. The barrier to entry to build massive, enterprise-grade systems is dropping to nothing. The only thing that matters now is knowing how to architect them. (Inside the Pro group, we’ve already stopped looking for new software to buy. We’re building native, agentic frameworks designed to take advantage of this new low-cost environment. I’m going to map out our exact architecture blueprint during our private deep dive next week so you can see how it works.)
