🔥🏆 Anime Tournament – GRAND FINAL 🏆🔥
We’re here - the Grand Final! After weeks of voting, debating, and some very hard choices, only two remain. The Grand Final: 🐉 Dragon Ball vs ⚙️ Fullmetal Alchemist Legacy versus mastery. Roots versus refinement. Only one will be crowned our community’s favourite anime. 🐉 Dragon Ball (ドラゴンボール) This is where it all began for countless fans. Dragon Ball didn’t just succeed—it defined what shōnen anime could be. Why it reached the Grand Final: Created the blueprint for training arcs, power growth, and rivalries A sense of adventure, humour, and joy that spans generations Characters that became global cultural icons An influence so deep that modern anime still echoes it This is anime history. Without Dragon Ball, the landscape looks completely different. ⚙️ Fullmetal Alchemist (鋼の錬金術師) A series often spoken about in terms of perfection. Fullmetal Alchemist balances action, philosophy, emotion and politics with rare precision. Why it reached the Grand Final: Exceptionally tight storytelling from start to finish Deep themes of sacrifice, morality, and responsibility A richly realised world and unforgettable cast A story that resonates just as strongly on rewatch This is anime at its most complete—crafted with care and purpose. 🗳️ THE FINAL VOTE This is it. Do you choose the foundational legend that shaped the genre? Or the storytelling masterpiece that refined it? 💬 Cast your final vote and share why—this is the one worth defending. 勝つのはどっちだ!? (Which one will be crowned!?) 🏆🔥

My vote is for Dragon Ball
🔥 Anime Tournament – Round 2 (Final 8) 🔥
Yesterday's winner was... Dragon Ball!! Today’s matchup:🎯 Assassination Classroom vs 🩸 Jujutsu Kaisen Heartfelt lessons versus raw cursed power. Only one advances. 🎯 Assassination Classroom (暗殺教室) A class told they’re failures. A teacher who believes in them absolutely. Assassination Classroom disguises a deeply emotional coming-of-age story inside a bizarre, comedic premise. Why it deserves its Final 8 spot: - A rare anime where every student grows, not just the lead - A perfect balance of humour, action, and genuine heart - One of anime’s most memorable and meaningful endings - A story about self-worth, guidance, and becoming your best self This is anime that teaches while entertaining—and leaves a lasting mark. 🩸 Jujutsu Kaisen (呪術廻戦) Dark, fast, and unapologetically intense. Jujutsu Kaisen represents the cutting edge of modern shōnen—where style, brutality, and emotion collide. Why it earned its place: - Top-tier animation and choreography that redefined fight scenes - A world with real danger and real consequences - Characters that feel instantly iconic - A relentless pace that never lets up This is anime that hits hard and doesn’t blink. 🗳️ Your Turn – Final 8 Vote! Which one moves closer to the title? - The emotional payoff and life lessons of Assassination Classroom? - Or the dark power and modern spectacle of Jujutsu Kaisen? 💬 Comment your vote below and defend your pick—respectful debate encouraged! 教えか、呪いか?(Teaching… or curses?) 🔥

今日の言葉 – お願いします (onegaishimasu)
When I first started learning Japanese, I thought 「お願いします」 just meant “please.” But the more I lived, worked, and trained in Japan, the more I realised it means so much more. The Many Meanings of お願いします 「お願いします」 comes from the verb 願う (negau) — “to wish” or “to request.” Depending on the situation, its meaning changes subtly: Before a match or lesson – it means “Let’s do our best together” or “Please treat me kindly.” > I said it before sparring kendo and playing table tennis, bowing to my opponent. It set the tone: respect, not rivalry. At work – it often means “Thank you for your cooperation” or “I’m counting on you.” > I’d say it when handing someone a project or when finishing an email: 「よろしくお願いします。」(Yoroshiku onegaishimasu.) When asking for help or service – it’s a polite way to make a request. > 「コーヒーをお願いします。」(Kōhī o onegaishimasu.) → “Coffee, please.” (soft, respectful tone — less direct than ください) It connects your intention to the listener with respect and warmth. 💬 Your Turn Think about it — where have you heard 「お願いします」 used? In anime? At work? In a shop or restaurant? Share one example below 👇 And how would you translate it naturally into English in that context?

I have heard people saying this in restaurants: 「お会計お願いします」 (May I have the check, please”.
