๐ŸŒŸ Welcome to The Change Makers! ๐ŸŒŸ
Youโ€™ve just joined a community of people who are ready to do things differently. Our motto is simple:Rewrite the rules. Redesign your life. This is a space to break old patterns, share your journey, and support one another as we step boldly into freedom and create lives we truly love. โœจ To kick things off, Iโ€™d love for you to introduce yourself: - Where are you from and what do you love about it? - Whatโ€™s one area of your life that youโ€™d like support with right now? - What would you most like to get out of being in this group? Donโ€™t be shy โ€” this is your space. The more you share, the more youโ€™ll get out of it. We grow faster together. ๐Ÿ’ซ Iโ€™m so glad youโ€™re here โ€” letโ€™s start making some real change! ๐Ÿ™Œ โ€” Lorene

Hi, I'm Alison from Glasgow, Scotland. My biggest struggle right now is accepting and managing my new normal after being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis almost 3 years ago. The first 18 months I was fairly hopeful and positive but after many failed medications, having to stop working as a personal trainer and struggling with pain and other symptoms I've felt a bit lost and stuck. I have the tools to navigate nutrition, exercise and lifestyle but need some help with my mindset.

Todayโ€™s theme: Asking for what you want
This came up for me again today and it reminded me why I included this exercise a few days ago in Day 23 of the challenge, because it goes much deeper than it sounds. My story- I was never allowed to accept anything including a glass of water when we went visiting because this would inconvenience the people. This also meant I was too afraid to ask to use the toilet in case it put someone out. Ridiculous, I know, but that was my beliefs and my conditioning. When I later heard that not allowing people to give to you is actually doing them a disservice, it honestly threw me. I had lived my whole life like this, well and truly into my adult years so I had to revisit everything Iโ€™d ever been taught. Thatโ€™s when so much clicked into place. I finally understood and realised why my family never gave me what I wanted, ever!!!!! even for presents. As a kid, Santa always โ€œran outโ€ before he got to me. I got things, but never ever what I truly wanted. I learned very early that: - I shouldnโ€™t ask - I didnโ€™t deserve - And if I wanted something, Iโ€™d better get it myself Because I never said what I wanted, I believed disappointment was inevitable. Then, years later, I started seeing the same belief in clients, not always as extreme, but definitely present. Especially in women and mothers. We go without so everyone else can have what they need. And we call it loveโ€ฆ but it comes at a cost. So now I teach this: - Ask for what you want - Tell people - Tell the universe Giving is easy for most of us. Receiving and accepting, well thatโ€™s the real challenge. Even now, I notice I sometimes struggle to recognise what I actually want. Which is why I use this exercise: Make a list of 100+ things you want. It sounds simple. Itโ€™s not. Most people get stuck around 20. This exercise gently rewires the brain. It forces you to think beyond survival and obligation and into desire, possibility, and choice. How can we manifest a life we want if we donโ€™t even know what that is? If youโ€™re willing to try it, comment below and let me know. Iโ€™d love to hear how it lands for you.

@Louise Size I do the same myself. I honestly don't know where I learned this, I don't remember my parents being this way but I definitely was afraid to be honest in the moment, especially as a child. I'm a bit better now but still a bit of a people pleaser. This is very interesting. I've just joined and I think I'm going to learn lots here. Thank you.
