Introduction
Hi everyone my name's Kaleb I live in Minnesota. Currently I have an associates degree in Robotics and Electronics engineering technology which sounded cool at first but now I just work in a maintenance department and change oil and grease and don't find my days satisfying and also have a long commute :( I'm looking to find something new to learn where I can develop a strong skill set and am currently looking at going back to school. Currently I'm looking at things like Data analytics and cyber security but leaning more towards data analytics. I'm just nervous to start a new path and find myself unsatisfied again or unable to find work. I'm hoping joining this community will be just what I need to figure where my life goes next!

Hey Kaleb! Welcome to the community, don't worry about finding a new path, a lot of people here are on the same journey. It is great that you already have an engineering associates because you can easily demonstrate you know how to learn, build, and solve problems. With a few certificates you can absolutely leverage this to be competitive in a new field. As a data analyst, I would highly recommend it for remote work, it is often project based and asynchronous. In all honesty the data analytics path isn't the easiest to get your foot in the door you will have to get some good projects and certifications under your belt, but it is 100% worth it.
Monday Update - New Things Inbound
What's up everyone, I'm finally settled in my new spot in Da Nang, Vietnam 🇻🇳 We ended up getting a furnished apartment for less than $500 a month, utilities included, and walking distance to the beach. You know it is a deal when even your Filipina girlfriend is shocked. There are a lot of nomads out here, the cafes are packed with them. So I would expect some more long form discussions from people in different industries and from different paths. One thing is clear from all the interviews I have done, and it is that no one path or jobs is 'right'. Everyone has to carve out there own path into this lifestyle, for that reason I am adding a 'side hustle' section with some alternative ways to make money online, besides the 9-5. I am looking to buckle down here for 6 months and really build out some more resources for the community. Automated resumes send outs, better job board functionality, and relationships with recruiters or remote first companies. I am looking to make this the most effective group for getting people remote as possible. If you have any ideas or suggestions that would help you out, please send me a message. Keep after it everyone!

Hey everyone! I haven’t introduced myself in here officially. I’m Damien and I’m in sales and on the side I help content creators monetize their audience with communities like this. I love staying active with like hiking, working out, and just generally trying new things. I absolutely love side quests, and I want to make it something I’m able to do whenever I want… so we’re working to make this remote thing work!! Super excited to meet everyone. I’m from Cali, where is everyone else from??

Hey Damien! Welcome to remote freedom. I love the skill set, I imagine all the help you provide can be done remote. What sort of side quests are you hoping to accomplish in 2026?
