No more Coffee Chat :(
I have decided to cancel upcoming Coffee Chats. We will be doing some special events over the summer, but for now, schedules seem just too busy. Be sure to stay tuned!

Welcome to our Newest Member Irene Castillo!
Irene, once you are ready, you can start by Introducing yourself and taking a look around. You can find lots of conversation, polls and information in the Classroom section as well. Leave some comments, ask some questions, whatever is on your mind and heart. PS if you love animals, you may want to join my other SKOOL Moving Beyond Words where we take a deep dive into the innate relationship between us and our animal companion. Welcome Irene. Tell us a bit about yourself.
💧 Ripple Tuesday - Inspiration
Big changes rarely begin with big moments. They begin with one small choice. A kind word. A healthier habit. A walk outside. A reusable bag. A few deep breaths. A moment of patience with yourself, someone you love, or an animal in your care. Each small action creates a ripple that reaches farther than we often realize. 💭 Today's Ripple Reflection: What is one small choice you've made recently that has made life just a little better—for yourself, someone else, an animal, or the planet? For me this week, it has been making a commitment to be more active... outdoors... more fresh air... just being present and grounded. I am so luck to have a beautiful view from my place and i often allow a step out onto the balcony to be my "nature" break, but i am "remembering" that getting out and putting my feet on the ground, hearing the water and being in nature, brings me a different kind of connection and peace. Share your ripple below. You never know who it might inspire.

Friday Fireworks - Safe and Calm Companion Checklist
As many of us are already into storm season, and for us in North America, we will soon find the loud bursts of fireworks as we celebrate our countries independence. It may be fun and exciting for us, but for many animals, loud noises are much more than an inconvenience. Their nervous system can become overwhelmed long before we even realize they're feeling anxious. The good news is that there are many gentle ways we can help, but the sooner we start to implement these tools and techniques the more support it will give to our companions when they really need it. Creating a safe space, preparing ahead of time, supporting their nervous system, and staying calm ourselves can make a significant difference. While every animal is unique, a thoughtful plan before storm season often helps far more than reacting once the fear has already begun. I've updated my Safe and Calm Companion Checklist to include: 🐾 Creating a calming safe space 🐾 Preparing before storms and fireworks 🐾 Sound and visual buffering 🐾 Safe essential oil guidelines 🐾 ThunderShirts and calming wraps 🐾 Nervous system support 🐾 Outdoor safety reminders 🐾 When it's time to involve your veterinarian Remember, this isn't about "fixing" fear—it's about helping our companions feel safe. I'd love to hear what you have tried and what works for you companion. 💭 Reflection Question: Has your animal ever struggled with thunderstorms or fireworks? What has helped them feel the safest? This is also posted in the Moving Beyond Words community :)

MANY years ago, my roommate and I went to a park for fireworks near our house. My little dog Nebbish was afraid of all load noises...not just fireworks...and she shook and vibrated with thunder and lightning and hail hitting the roof. This one particular day we were afraid to leave her alone, so we took her with. People were lying on top of blankets looking up. Nebbish got under the blanket between the 2 of us and vibrated, but seemed as comfortable there as if we were at home when the noise went off. Her nose made a small wet mark on the blanket and at least she was safe. Now that we have other options for noiseless fireworks, I wish people would choose to use those. Unexplained loud noises are hard for ALL animals, including wild animals.
🌿 Today's Thoughtful Thursday Reflection: Celebrate the Small Steps
What is one small change you've made that has made a meaningful difference in your life this week? Share it below. Your small step might be exactly the encouragement someone else needs today. Sometimes we become so focused on what still needs to change that we forget to notice how far we've already come. Maybe this week you chose a healthier meal You spent a few quiet moments in nature You swapped one household product for another more natural alternative You recycled something instead of throwing it away You paused to breathe before reacting You took time to rest without feeling guilty Sometimes we become so focused on what still needs to change that we forget to notice how far we've already come. None of these moments may seem dramatic on their own. But wellness isn't built through one giant leap—it's created through hundreds of small, thoughtful choices that gradually shape a healthier life, a healthier home, and a healthier world. I have a small group of woman that has been together for at least 15 years. We have supported each other through thick and thin. This week we invited a new person and let her know that what is discussed in our group, stays within our group and we support each other. She was able to share some personally frightening thing she is struggling with and our support was monumental in helping her feel safe.
