Don't say: genki desu ka?
It means How are you? But.. In Japan, it isn't said every time you see someone. Instead say: 最近、どうですか。 Saikin, dou desu ka. How have you been lately? 🗣️ Positive はい、元気です。 Hai, genki desu. I’m well. いい感じです。 Ii kanji desu. Things are going well. 🗣️ Neutral (very common) まあまあです。 Maa maa desu. So-so. 普通です。 Futsū desu. Pretty normal. 🗣️ Busy / tired ちょっと忙しいです。 Chotto isogashii desu. I’ve been a bit busy. 最近ちょっと疲れています。 Saikin chotto tsukarete imasu. I’ve been a bit tired lately. 🗣️ Add a little detail (very natural) はい、元気です。ちょっと忙しいですが。 Hai, genki desu. Chotto isogashii desu ga. I’m well, just a bit busy. まあまあです。仕事が忙しくて。 Maa maa desu. Shigoto ga isogashikute. So-so, work’s been busy.

JapaneseTopicTuesday - Speaking skills
I couldn't speak. At uni, I needed to give a 3 minute speech about Anzac biscuits (my favourite). Just 3 minutes, but I couldn't spit it out. My fluency was terrible. Every sentence was like a tongue twister and I was going to fail. Until I tried something simple. I started recording myself. Again. And again. And again. At first, it was painful to watch. But each time, I improved: clearer sentences better rhythm more confidence The next day, I gave the speech… And I nailed it. Not perfect—but fluent, confident and clear. That moment changed everything. 🎯 Lesson: If you want to improve your speaking, you need to hear yourself. Recording yourself forces you to: notice mistakes fix awkward phrasing build real fluency It’s one of the fastest ways to level up your Japanese. 🫵 Your turn: Have you ever hit a roadblock in speaking? Or have you tried recording yourself? Let me know 👇

Thank you, I'm blocked on giving time to myself to practice speaking. I've found a japanese partner to speak with, but she's so curious about france and so, that she use complexes vocabulary. at first I tried to just focus on trying to understand as much as I can and just produce what I can on that time, and after, take note of what we've talked about and feed the vocabulary whole, but I don't study it after, so I gave up. Maybe I should try it, I tried one time recently, asking me one question and answer and record it, but didn't listen again

🔥🏆 Anime Tournament – GRAND FINAL 🏆🔥
We’re here - the Grand Final! After weeks of voting, debating, and some very hard choices, only two remain. The Grand Final: 🐉 Dragon Ball vs ⚙️ Fullmetal Alchemist Legacy versus mastery. Roots versus refinement. Only one will be crowned our community’s favourite anime. 🐉 Dragon Ball (ドラゴンボール) This is where it all began for countless fans. Dragon Ball didn’t just succeed—it defined what shōnen anime could be. Why it reached the Grand Final: Created the blueprint for training arcs, power growth, and rivalries A sense of adventure, humour, and joy that spans generations Characters that became global cultural icons An influence so deep that modern anime still echoes it This is anime history. Without Dragon Ball, the landscape looks completely different. ⚙️ Fullmetal Alchemist (鋼の錬金術師) A series often spoken about in terms of perfection. Fullmetal Alchemist balances action, philosophy, emotion and politics with rare precision. Why it reached the Grand Final: Exceptionally tight storytelling from start to finish Deep themes of sacrifice, morality, and responsibility A richly realised world and unforgettable cast A story that resonates just as strongly on rewatch This is anime at its most complete—crafted with care and purpose. 🗳️ THE FINAL VOTE This is it. Do you choose the foundational legend that shaped the genre? Or the storytelling masterpiece that refined it? 💬 Cast your final vote and share why—this is the one worth defending. 勝つのはどっちだ!? (Which one will be crowned!?) 🏆🔥
