10 contributions to Start a Business with No Money
Poll: Online or IRL? What are you building? 🚀
I want to make sure we’re providing the exact help you need. I’m not here posing with a rented Lamborghini trying to sell you a generic "blueprint." I’ve done all the things and don't have to work any more. I can help you if you want the same. I'm really not a good bragger, but I'll attempt to demonstrate that I really know what I'm talking about... My journey started at rock bottom and led to building real-world business assets - from my early graphic design / printing business and toy store chains in Devon and Cornwall with muti-channel e-commerce sales, to our current manufacturing gifts brand. Along the way, we’ve coded our own bespoke CRM systems (well before AI made it easy), I have partnerships with several other businesses from micro-bakeries to wool shops. and we've grown an expanding property portfolio of houses, shops, and holiday lets, (in fact, we're buying two more shops right now) and I've enjoyed every minute of building this life. If I listened to the "gurus" I'd have chosen one thing, and "focused" and had "one boring offer" blah blah... This is not what true entrepreneurs do - I've got loads of exciting things going on - always have, always will! Entrepreneurs just do whatever excites them - whatever they want to do, and run with it! 𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻, 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁! 𝗡𝗼-𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻! 𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝘁𝗼, 𝗜'𝗺 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗢! I’ve seen the "zero-capital" mindset work at every level, and where I have weaknesses (yes, we ALL have strengths AND weaknesses!), our Resident Experts fill the gaps. Whether you’re launching a mobile valeting service, a digital marketing agency, or a handmade furniture brand, between us all, we can help you tailor a plan to move forward without putting any of your own money at risk. 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄: Tell me exactly what the business is (e.g., "A local plumbing firm" or "A Shopify store for eco-toys") and what is currently stopping you from getting it off the ground.

I'm an online sobriety coach/community owner - - well, really sobriADHDy. But I'd love to get into in-person events, including retreats, eventually. I'd even love to run a rehab center but can't do it all (and can save more lives virtually).
What is this a picture of? <3
For those of you that have joined with in the last 4 weeks or so, I changed the bot check to this question. It astounds me and amuses me that so many people get it wrong. The great thing is it is the only test that has managed to trip up AI but I don't suppose it will for much longer. My son and I spent a good hour testing all sorts of questions. The only problem is a lot of people seem to struggle with it too... Many people say there's no picture or less than three. I think my favourite guess so far was was " someone's bum" and " a bird's eye view of a woman" 😂 So is it just an age thing? In a day before emojis, and we had to try and make our own? We just used to be able to make all sorts of pictures on the little square Nokia screen. Would anyone care to either guess again or put the people out of their misery who had no idea? There are actually two correct answers. So..... What is this a picture of? <3

@Angel Conway Haaaa, I also thought that's what he meant --- did you also think maybe could see someone saying it was someone's bum, but how did they come up w/a bird's eye view of a woman??! Also agree would think most know that's a heart.
Conversation Challenge
Following up @Adam McCollough 's post, I wanted to create a conversation around a hobby that I love: performing stand-up comedy! A lot of people ask me the question, “why stand-up comedy?” Am I looking to become famous? NO. Make money? NOPE. My goal in getting up on stage was (and is) to get outside of my current comfort zone for my own personal GROWTH. Did I achieve this objective? YES 100% ! Stand-up comedy has helped me learn so much about myself, it’s hard to describe it all in one short post. It has enabled me to: - Find the humor in my experience of life !  We all go through stuff that is painful.  AND when we can take a step back and find the gift that’s there for us, we can usually laugh about some part of it... - Get over my fear of rejection. Most of the time things work out, but even when they don’t, it’s not all bad… - Redefine who I am as a person because I have proven to myself over and over again that I am capable of doing hard things ! The road to personal development is AMAZING. My journey hasn’t always been easy, but stand-up comedy certainly has made it a lot more FUN. And the experience is serving me as I grow my life coaching business because it helps me: - Show up to give - Be fully present in the moment with zero expectations - Bring the very best version of myself with me into all of my interactions - Ask quality questions to get unstuck... ... and a million other things. One day I want to write a book (or at least a chapter in a book about it). And my mantra has really helped me overcome my fears to keep putting myself out there (and keep doing it again and again): "This is hard. AND, I am capable of doing hard things." With a little luck that may serve someone here today! 🥰 👇What's a hobby that you have that has pushed you outside your comfort zone?

@Adam McCollough I thought you'd never ask. Nothing pro like Liz but here's recording from Monday. First story is rough but then gets going -- only issue is I went way too fast trying to pack it all in. It's harder on Zoom since no pausing for (silent) laughter. Next time I'll have the timing down.

@Liz Lemarchand FYI I read (the previous version) long ago, was really good: The New Comedy Bible: The Ultimate Guide to Writing and Performing Stand-Up Comedy https://tinyurl.com/m6yj54bx
Here's a really good business idea for somone
I have three kids in three different schools and I would happily pay for someone to take care of ALL the school admin, deal with the three hundred emails a day, make all the payments, sort after school clubs and register and deal with all of the pointless and numerous apps and communications, mufti days and run the school diary.

@Adam McCollough You can also get good virtual assistants on the cheap.

Absolutely mindblowing how people dream of having kids/a job that pays negative one (to two) million dollars . . . per child. Pass.
Priceless Coaching
I did a call with Adam prior to launching my community (Sobriety w/an ADHD twist) a few weeks ago and he said all the right things to give me the confidence to launch it, and schedule my first live call with no fear of no one showing up. He even made me almost look forward to no-one showing, but sadly 7 people did (haha). Bravo Adam, thanks!
