A day late in my weekly progress report, but...
Progress is happening! I'm 5 scenes behind where I should be to stay on track with my two-scenes-per-day goal, but I had a huge writing session today and knocked out a ton. I finally passed the midpoint in my WIP, and things are going WAY faster now. I love the feeling of getting involved in my own book, and I'm starting to taste that feeling again after MONTHS of feeling like I'm swimming through mud with this edit. Onward we go, with a cute tracker keeping me motivated 😂

Love the tracker! Much prettier than my spreadsheet
8.5k - At least I'm progressing!
I had a very astute comment from a member of my writing group that had me rethinking some of my story progression. But instead of letting it derail me completely (which it might have done without this challenge) I wrote a couple thousand words to stick in between two earlier chapters. Don't worry, I'm not going to go back and fix everything right now, but I think this anchor point might be helpful in my first revision.

FINAL EDIT COMPLETE
I just finished what I hope is the last edit on the sequel to my steampunk novel, its titled CORSAIR AND THE TEMPLE OF THE HEAVENLY CHARIOT. 74,400 words, about 10,000 less than the first draft. Now, to get it published by next year.

Congratulations! And now a moment of silence for those words you had to let go...
I guess I better get serious!
6.7k... but I had a huge head start. Only averaging a couple hundred words a day.

@Eric Anderson I'm not actually performing. Technically I produce. And build sets. And do a little directing. It's a very small theatre company I started with my wife and sister in Layton Utah.
What took me so long?
More than twenty years to finally finish my first book. Aiming for 18 months for number two!

@JoAnne Maluti keep at it!

@Kai Alger the biggest difference is just the fact I've done it once. That's a pretty good comeback when you get doubts!
