$49 for this old Kia.
This was probably the easiest $49 I have ever made. I wouldn't usually go this low but the lights were small and I know they wouldn't have paid anymore. They turned out amazing.

Were those glass? If so, is the process the same on glass as on plastic? Is glass generally easier to restore?
Fine scratches
This was my first headlight. If you zoom in, you can see some really fine scratches on the surface. Does that mean I went too aggressive with the rougher grit? I started with 800 but I used all the grits and didn’t skip any.

@Jason LaRosa I used whatever is in the DIY kit.

@Jason LaRosa is the coating in the DIY kit different than the Pro kit? I thought they were both ceramic. Either way, I’m still curious how to not have those fine scratches again on my next one.
Take a wild guess what I was paid
These turned out amazing minus some micro cracking. What do you think I was paid? I'll give you a hint. They were done at a mechanic shop and the shop paid me 100% of what they charged the customer. Ok I will just tell you since it was the most I have ever been paid. $499.00. That is what they charge for restorations. Keep in mind that they are Range Rover Specialist shop. They told me replacements for the newer models are $7000.00!

@Jason LaRosa That's amazing! Congrats! What an incredible ROI for you.
New person here
Hello everyone. I am considering this for income. I have been out of work for quite some time and still looking. As I look into this I have one main question. How do you all find clients? It seems to me the work itself is not complicated. I just do not know who to get started. Any advice would be appreciated.

@April Reyes BNI is Business Network International. They usually have chapters in your city. They have networking meetings where people can share about their business and hopefully get new clients. I believe they charge a membership fee. You may also look into you local chamber of commerce. They also have networking meetings.

@April Reyes I'm just getting started as well. Honestly, I went for a walk through my neighborhood for exercise yesterday and I easily saw 10-15 cars that needed headlight restoration. Go into the Classroom portion of this site and you'll find classes on getting clients as well as flyer ideas you can leave on windshields of cars that clearly need this service.
Couple questions…
I’ve heard if you’re just starting, focus on Japanese cars. What do you do with all the rest of the potential customers? Also, what do you do with the really old glass headlights? Also, if these questions are answered in the class, lmk. I’m still working through the classes.
