Apparently, at 58, I'm not having a midlife crisis…] I'M HAVING A BLOODY AWARDS SEASON! 🤣🤣🤣 Honestly, you couldn't make this shit up! Yesterday, I was sitting here in Vietnam, absolutely delighted that I'd been shortlisted for the Flamingo Business Awards — Ultimate Entrepreneur. I'd written my celebratory post, thanked everyone, had my little moment of excitement… Then my team messages me. “Ann, you do realise you've been shortlisted for THREE Flamingo Awards, not one?” EH?! WHAT?! 😂😂 So I started counting properly. SEVEN AWARD SHORTLISTS. TWO MONTHS. And recognition from multiple organisations! 🏆 Flamingo Business Awards — Ultimate Entrepreneur, Global Leader and Spiritual Leader. 🏆 New Earth Business Awards — The Changemaker, Recognition for Global Impact and Inspirational As F*ck — The Warrior Phoenix. 🌍 Women Worth Watching Global — Recognition for making a difference. SEVEN!!! Clearly, I've spent 30+ years learning how to run businesses but still haven't mastered reading my bloody emails! 🤣 Team is now officially Head of Keeping Ann Informed About Her Own Life! 😂 But do you know what's really hit me? I haven't suddenly become someone worthy of recognition. I've been doing this work for DECADES. I've built businesses. Lost businesses. Gone bankrupt. Started again. I've been a single mum, experienced heartbreak, grief, betrayal and enough life lessons to write a bloody encyclopaedia. I've had moments when I genuinely wondered what the hell I was doing. And I've had to pick myself up more times than I care to remember. But I kept going. Not because I knew where it would all lead. But because I knew I had something meaningful to contribute. And now, at 58, sitting in Vietnam with my laptop, a coffee and absolutely no idea what day of the week it is half the time… 😂 The recognition is catching up with the work. And I think that's something worth talking about. Because we're living in a world obsessed with overnight success. Six-figure launches. Viral posts. Instant recognition.
