They can still surprise you
So, this morning as I was holding my phone up to photograph these beautiful blossoms on the Magnificent Peach tree beside the dam, I heard something I hadn't expected - the sound of Koko paddling in the water. When I lowered the phone and looked over to where the sound had come from, there was Koko sniffing something on the surface of the water. Then she took another step forward (into the water), squatted and pee-marked on to the top of the water. I've never seen her do anything like that before, and it was one of those curiosity-filled moments when I wondered what on earth was on/in the water that prompted her to mark it like that. And I love that at almost 14 and a half years old she's still got the ability to surprise me, and remind me of the wonderful mystery of living with other species. No photo of Koko doing it, because it all happened so quickly, and I was so engrossed in the curiosity of it all that I didn't get a pic. Instead, a pic of her in the dam during one of the lovely seasons when it was brimful of water.

Today's glimmer
Lois & I watched a spider ambulate across the verandah this morning. It was fascinating. It was just a house spider but they still creep me out all those legs... I was trying to work out the pattern for walking. When going straight, the alternate legs seemed to move together. When encountering a bump or leaf, it seemed like there was no pattern, just handy to have extra legs. They seemed to taste spots with the fang bits. They did an amazing abrupt side step - i didnt consider this possible with 8 legs. When I tapped my foot to discourage walking towards me, they suddenly laid flat and the legs didnt seem controlled at all, with one sticking out straight. I think Lois was considering eating them. A moment together with very different perspectives. 😂

Bahahahah...I love how curious you both were! You figuring out how the mechanis work...Lois wondering what it would taste like 😂
Sunday is dogs day 🌞✨️
I'm currently struggling with metatarsalgia and cannot be on my feet long. So this afternoon rather than feel guilty about not hiking out with the dogs I sat around while they played instead. They didn't seem to mind and I took the opportunity to get artsy with some footage after a magical afternoon at home with my dogs. Enjoy 😍

Boise, Rob, and I at Geek-Con'
Rob caught us on camera walking in on a loose leash. We ended up doing a big outside circle of the room & man was it crowed this year. I did not think we were going to make it because OFA got in touch with me and told me the Veterinarian left shoulder did not process and we had to redo that one. They did it for nothing but it was earlier today and I was afraid they would sedate her again which they did not. Spiderman, who my grandson & I just love, saved Princess Boise from the Joker Clown tonight. Plus she got to take a picture of herself to hang on our wall looking stoic in a lighting storm. It was a little over whelming there was standing room only. And I must say the elevator leaves something to be desired it was so tiny. There also was this SDit or I would like to think so. Him & his person were down this aisle we were thinking of going down but he the dog saw us and his hackles went up I just turned and went the other way. So far she has never had a bad experience with another SD or even dog so let's keep it that way.❤️🦫😊 P.S.A former women's champion from WWE went nuts and had to giver her some love.❤️ She had chihuahuas also. Pax’s favourite magic toy ✨
Pax and I had a lovely start to our day outside greeting our magpie friends, going for a meander with string ball bursts of excitement thrown in. I had to wash his ball once we were inside as it was so foamy and Pax inspected it and thought it could do with a bit more slobber 😂 He adooooores a ball on a string and is heaps of fun to play with. Really plays as a team and teases you as much as you tease him 😂 Which is great as he seems to have problems with a congested anal gland today that we keep monitoring and it took his mind off it. Anyway, time to get ready for a very martial arts focussed weekend with lots of cool people. What’s a glimmer for you and your dog? Much love to you all 💛
