New in the Genius Series: my conversation with Kirstie Walker-Poole. Kirstie spent 20+ years at M&S, starting in stores and rising to lead big transformation programmes as head of programmes, transformation and product. At the end of May, she left corporate behind to build a coaching business around the thing she always loved most: helping people be their best. 𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿, two areas where women are often left with very little support. She's also leading the community side of Cups of Courage, bringing people together at whatever stage of their journey. What I loved most is that she's spent her whole career teaching people to play to their strengths and be unapologetically themselves, and now she's doing exactly that herself. It's a big shift to go from a monthly salary to self-employment, and she said it with such calm: "𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀." My takeaway for you: meaningful work and earning well are not opposites. Her lived experience is her genius, and there's no reason she shouldn't be paid properly for it. 💛 ▶️ Watch here: I'd love to hear from you: Where in your own work are you still trying to be someone else, and what would change if you gave yourself full permission to be you?
