Old Dog, New Tricks ?? ⛔️
YOU CAN’T WIN NEW GROWTH WITH AN OLD TEAM, AN OLD ATTITUDE AND OLD SYSTEMS Every business owner says they want growth. - More customers. - More revenue. - More profit. - More freedom. But many are trying to create a new future using exactly the same people, thinking and systems that created their current results. That doesn’t work. If you want something new, something has to change. That might mean: - Developing the team you have… or accepting that some people cannot come on the next stage of the journey. - Challenging attitudes that resist change, avoid accountability or settle for “good enough”. - Replacing outdated systems that waste time, lose opportunities and depend too heavily on you. - Growth isn’t simply doing more of what you’ve always done. It’s having the courage to question what, and sometimes who, got you here, but won’t get you there. If you want something new, you need to do something different. So, looking honestly at your business today, what most needs to change: the team, the attitude or the systems?

Or you!! The change needs you to make the change! @Mike Greene Totally agree, but also would add the change needs to come from within, and after a lot of soul searching, I was the problem, getting in my own way, if that makes sense! I would have procrastinated over the small things let alone the big things! Now, bam 💥 decision made, wipe your face and move on mentality has made a massive difference in my business & life.

@Mike Greene Wow it truly is as simple as adapt or die. I am also pushing AI more and more into everything I do as this technology makes such a difference and again if you don’t use it, then others will!
Listening in to Mike’s podcast….. pure brilliance and great takeaways!
I caught this podcast that @Mike Greene completed earlier this year, and I must say it was a great listening finishing up my day today. The biggest takeaway I got was having the DRIVE, to get to where Mike had set a goal to achieve, instead of a need to do something. This could be from working more to get the takeaway at the end of the week in the early days, right the way to present days goals which are very different! I loved the raw honesty and definitely worth the time, as so many nuggets, ending up with speaking about Mike’s goals now self made and not having the financial pressures, which is where I want to get to, in my rebuild of business & life! Thanks Mike for being so open, and happy to share this with the Board Community as this may help others as it did me 🙏 Catch this link of pure gold! https://share.google/PPDXJ7oawfKMk4icJ

Your welcome Mike - reading yesterday and listening to a podcast was a great way to educate and improve, and now dedicated to this path of lifelong learning.
My Journey with The Board
It was April last year when I picked a Checkatrade magazine and found @Mike Greene advert with 20mins free consultation. This is when my life changed. During the 20min free consultation @Mike Greene gave me a lot of tips including simple things like keeping my truck clean ,clean uniform , small changes that has made so much difference to my business. Old school flyers : 10 houses to the left 10 house to the right on jobs has resulted in us doing 6houses on the same Close with 2/3 Bathrooms each. Rebranded my truck , my entire business , logo ,new uniform and brand new attitude. Rumour started going around my area that Godfrey’s C & G Plumbers Ltd had landed an Investor for his business. The transformation was that good. Pre qualifications on all my leads , on the spot sale handshakes , pricing and all we have learnt through what was Growth Syndicate and now The Board’s weekly meetings has tripled my business from constantly looking for work to being booked 4 months ahead and having to control work influx until we employ at least 2 experienced bathroom fitters. Air Condition Installations will definitely help us in scaling our Business too. Why am I posting this ? 1: To say thank you to @Mike Greene for all you have done for us since April 2025 2: For anyone out there thinking to travel this journey with @Mike Greene The Board : IS A GAME CHANGER 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 3: To say thank you to all The Board members for the amazing positive energy on this group Attending The Board’s weekly meetings is a proven way of recharging the mindset and keep me laser focus to scaling my business PS @Mike Greene this is not AI generated 🤣🤣 🚀🚀🚀 🙏🙏🙏

People don’t care how much you know, till they know how much you care
The most powerful meeting I ever had, I wanted nothing. 👇 Years ago, me and my business partner spotted in a trade magazine that the chief exec of one of our biggest clients was turning 60 - and marking 40 years at the same company. So we rang his PA and booked a lunch. He came along, and for two hours we just talked. The industry, where it was heading, what he’d seen over 40 years. No pitch. No proposal. No “while I’ve got you…” As he got up to leave, he stopped and said: “Thanks boys. Lovely lunch. But… what was it you wanted?” Nothing, we said. We saw your milestone and wanted to say thank you for your business. He couldn’t compute it. He walked off down the waterside and every few steps he looked back over his shoulder - waiting for us to shout the catch after him or try to sell something to him. It never came. A week later we got a letter. He said in 40 years, nobody had ever travelled to buy him a lunch and want nothing. Nobody. In 40 years. From that day on we made it a system. Regular meetings with the people who mattered to us - clients, contacts, connectors - with one rule: no selling. Go to listen, to learn, and to say thank you. That’s it. Hardest discipline in business, that. Because nearly everyone can’t help themselves. They book the “catch up coffee” and then out comes the pitch - and the other person saw it coming before they’d even sat down. But here’s what happened to us. Those no-agenda meetings brought us more business, more referrals and more loyalty than any pitch we ever gave. Because when you want nothing, people relax. And when people relax, they talk. And when they talk, they tell you exactly how to help them - then remember you as the one who never asked. People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. 👊 So here’s this week’s challenge. Pick one person - a good client, an old contact, someone who’s helped you along the way. Book a coffee or a lunch. Go with nothing to sell and nothing to ask. Listen, learn, say thank you, leave.

THE PAST DOES NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO CONTROL YOUR FUTURE
Read that again. The past doesn’t need to still be happening to still be controlling you. Being bullied at school. Being told you were stupid. Growing up without money. A parent or teacher telling you that you’d never amount to much. A business failure. A bankruptcy. A relationship that knocked your confidence. A time you took a risk and got badly burnt. Those things may have happened 10, 20, 30 or even 50 years ago. But the beliefs they created can still be sitting quietly in the background today, influencing your confidence, your relationships, the risks you’re prepared to take, the opportunities you pursue, the money you believe you deserve and almost every important decision you make. And most of the time, you don’t even realise they’re doing it. That’s why I often say: Your biggest enemy is the six inches between your ears. One of the biggest parts of mentoring isn’t teaching somebody another business strategy. It’s helping them recognise the deeply rooted beliefs and behaviours that are stopping them implementing the strategies they already know. You have to understand your own psychology. You have to work on your mindset. And sometimes you have to challenge beliefs you’ve carried for decades that simply aren’t true anymore… and perhaps never were. So ponder this for a few minutes today: What happened in your past that is no longer present in your life… but might still be controlling your future? And more importantly: What could change if you finally stopped letting it?
