May the 4th be with you… but which Force are we actually talking about?
You know what I love about Star Wars? Not the light sabres or the space ships (ok, maybe a little bit). It’s that George Lucas accidentally wrote a whole spiritual manual for us. The Jedi talk about the Force like it’s everywhere. Flowing through all living things. Connecting everything. Sound familiar? That’s just another word for what we’ve been calling Energy all along. Yoda’s best line? Not the backwards grammar one. It’s this: “Luminous beings are we… not this crude matter.” Meaning you are not just your stress, your bank balance, your relationship mess, or that thing someone said to you yesterday. You are light. You always were. And here’s the juicy bit for your spiritual practice today… The Jedi also knew that fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. They weren't being dramatic. They were describing what happens when you lose connection to your own good energy. When you clamp down. When you try to control instead of trust. So today – just for fun – try this.... When you feel that anxious clench in your chest… ask yourself: “Am I acting like a Jedi right now, or am I acting like a Sith Lord having a quiet meltdown?” No judgement. Just noticing. And then breathe. Feel the Force (or God, or Universe, or just the air moving in and out) flow through you. Remind yourself: “I am a luminous being having a slightly messy human day. And that’s allowed.” May the 4th be with you. But more importantly, may you be with you. The real, luminous, starry-hearted you. With Love ❤️ Always Mark

@Mark Lawrence I love where you’re going with this. It made me think about The Mandalorian. He does not talk about the Force like Yoda, but if you watch closely, he is living something just as real. He listens. Not just with his ears, but with his actions. At first, he is guarded and focused on survival. But over time, through his connection with Grogu, he begins to trust what feels right. He does not call it the Force, but you can see it in the way he pauses instead of reacting, protects instead of walking away, and chooses connection over control. Even with his helmet on, he learns how to listen in a deeper way. He pays attention, adjusts, and moves toward what matters. It reminds me that listening takes intention. It means slowing down, noticing what is in front of you, and stepping in when it matters. The Mandalorian shows us that real connection is built one choice at a time. This is the way.

Hoosiers "I Love You Guys" and the Kingdom of God
@Mark Lawrence you inspired me with your post about movies. I want to share a thought with you about my favorite movie of all time. The movie Hoosiers has always meant something special to me. I have to admit, it makes me emotional. I grew up in Indiana and had a basketball goal in my yard, so I don’t just watch this movie, I feel it. It reminds me of what it looks like when people come together, believe in each other, and step in to help one another grow. When I look at Hoosiers through the lens of the Kingdom of God, I see more than basketball. I see a coach who steps into the lives of young men and chooses to care. He does not just teach them the game. He teaches them discipline, trust, and how to support each other. Over time, the team becomes more than a team. They become a community that lifts each other up. This is how the Kingdom of God works. It shows up when we choose to stay, to believe, and to care for the people in front of us. We may not be on a basketball court, but we all have moments where we can step in and make a difference. It might be through encouragement, guidance, or simply being present. Hoosiers is a reminder that everyday people can create something meaningful when they care together. I encourage you to look this movie up, pop some popcorn, and watch it with this in mind. You may just see the Kingdom of God moving in ways you did not expect.

The Matrix – "Red pill? Nah. Try the real pill: presence."
My post for May the 4th go with you yesterday, got me thinking, and while I'm laid up with my health issues, I have a lot of time to reflect, to connect with myself and to meditate. So, here's another post re spirituality via the movies...Today the Matrix.... Remember that moment? Neo takes the red pill and suddenly sees the code underneath everything. Bullets slow down. Walls aren't walls anymore. Here's what they don't tell you in the movie… You don't need a red pill. You already have something better: awareness..... When you sit still long enough, just five minutes, and watch your thoughts without chasing them… you start to see the matrix of your own mind. The loops. The old stories. The "I'm not good enough" programs running in the background. That's the real awakening. Not kung fu. Not dodging bullets. Just seeing clearly... Oh. That thought isn't truth, It's just a program I installed years ago. And once you see it? You can uninstall it. No spoon required. So today, ask yourself.... What's one belief you've been running that isn't even yours? Someone gave it to you. A parent. A teacher. A bad day that lied to you. You can put it down now. That's your red pill moment. With Love ❤️ Always Mark

Firewood or Sacred Relic
A monk once came across Tanzan sitting by a fire on a cold night. To his surprise, Tanzan was burning a wooden Buddha statue. “What are you doing?” the monk exclaimed. “That’s a Buddha!" Tanzan stirred the fire and replied, "I’m searching for the sacred relics." “But it’s just wood!" the monk argued. Tanzan looked up and said, "Then bring me another Buddha. It’s cold tonight." The monk saw a sacred object, but Tanzan saw firewood. This story isn’t about showing disrespect. It’s about confusion—how easily we mistake the symbol for the real thing. A statue points. A teaching points. A practice points. But none of these are the actual essence. If you hold on too tightly, sometimes even what’s meant to set you free can turn into something you cling to. With Love ❤️ Always Mark

I do think this story is pointing to a deeper truth about attachment, meaning, and what is truly sacred. I am attached to many things. This got me thinking though, what am I attached to that matters. That is sacred.
The Light of God Is Within, Love and Happiness is Within, Don’t Search for them Without!
My dear friends, A friend came to me yesterday. She was lost—not the kind where you forget your keys, but the kind where life stops making sense. Trouble in her marriage, distance from her child, no feel for the future. Standing at a crossroads with a blank look and a furrowed brow, unable to move. As we talked, I felt how low her energy had dropped. Every word carried sadness, anger, fear. It was like negativity had built a wall around her, and her ego was holding the keys. Deep down—maybe from old karma, maybe from past lives, maybe just from sleepless nights after the baby came—something had shifted. She felt trapped. The love between her and her husband had cooled. She started living separate lives, working late, passing off the baby, doing what was expected. And somewhere inside, her inner child was screaming to break free. She said, "I need love. I need happiness. I have to leave and start over." I told her something the Buddha taught me: love and happiness aren't out there. They start within. If you can't sit with yourself, you can't attract love from anyone else. Negativity sends out negativity. But the moment you turn toward yourself with kindness, the whole field changes. We sat together. She cried. Then she smiled—just a little. She's decided to take the road of family again. Not because it's easy, but because she saw that running wasn't the answer. I'll walk with her. And she's supported by the light of God, the ascended masters, the healers, and the angels—every step. All she has to do is remember: love is already in her. Happiness is already in her. Her husband and child have been there all along. You can do this too, if you're standing at your own crossroads. Namaste with love ❤️ Always Mark
