๐ŸŽ„ Itโ€™s December 2ndโ€ฆ so letโ€™s share THRIFTED Christmas ideas! โœจ
Not the serious kind โ€” just the fun โ€œyou can totally find this at the thrift store/ op shopโ€ kind. Here are a few ideas to get things started: โญ๏ธ Festive mugs for hot chocolate โญ๏ธ Vintage Christmas tins (perfect for cookies or gifts) โญ๏ธ Cute baskets for DIY gift hampers โญ๏ธ Secondhand books as stocking stuffers โญ๏ธ Glass jars for homemade treatsโ€ข Ornaments people donated from years pastโ€ข Board games & puzzles for family nights โญ๏ธ Table dรฉcor (placemats, candles, napkin rings, all of it!) โญ๏ธFabric & scarves that make amazing reusable gift wrap ๐ŸŽโœจ(Furoshiki-style wrapping is super pretty and super easy!) Now your turn ๐Ÿ‘‰ What Christmas-y thing have you found at a thrift/op shop before? Orโ€ฆ what festive thing do you always see show up in December? Drop a comment ...even one small idea helps someone else! ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŽ„

I purchased a very cute ceramic cat planter scrubbed it up and put a plant in it. This is the present we are taking down for a cat loving aunty who lives in a retirement village. She doesnโ€™t need for anything much but has a lovely little courtyard garden which the cat planter will sit nicely in
โœจ Thrift Spotlight: Vintage Mesh Purses (Oroton, Glomesh & more!)
Found this beautiful Oroton gold mesh coin purse the other day for $6 and had to share โœจMesh accessories have been around for decades, and many countries have their own iconic brands. Hereโ€™s a fun bit of history I learned: ๐Ÿ’ก Oroton - Began in the 1930s - Known for high-quality metal mesh bags - Hugely popular in Australia & New Zealand through the 70sโ€“90s - Stylish, shiny, and super trendy at the time ๐Ÿ’ก Glomesh - Started in 1958 in Sydney - Also famous for metal mesh purses, clutches, and wallets - Their mesh pieces were everywhere in the 60sโ€“80s - Often mixed up with similar brands worldwide And of course, other countries had their own mesh legends like Whiting & Davis (USA), which dates back to the 1800s and is still collected today. Mesh designs were a big deal globally โ€” elegant, durable, and instantly eye-catching. Have you ever thrifted a mesh bag where you live? Or do you remember these from your country? If you have one (any brand!), feel free to share a pic โ€” an Oroton Wallet was the thing to have in the 80's here in New Zealand ...I remember really wanting one ...how about you? โœจ

I have a collection of about 10. I purchased my first one in about 1979 in Parnell and absolutely thrashed it. It was hugely expensive for me as a just 20 year old but I certainly got my wear out of it. It was my pub/Nightclub bag. I got a wee coin purse as a 21sr present and still have that. Iโ€™ve used one of my new to me vintage collection I purchased at an op shop for the races in the past year but generally donโ€™t go anywhere fancy enough to wear them anymore

Fast Fashion is a never for me. Fading and pilling yells poor quality. I will consider stains, repairs within reason and if I can fix them
