🎶 Fav Song Check!? (fun friday???)
What song made you fall in love with piano? or guitar for my friend Gary Lee (or ʻukulele for me)… or music in general? No skill flexing. No “I’m bad though” disclaimers :) Just fun music stories! I'll go first below 👇

@Sam De la haye yes I did! I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (if you get this, don’t get the Solo, 2i2 or higher) and I set my levels with the “Auto” feature, then slightly bring them down for both the mic and the ʻukulele. That way it doesn’t peak, which can cause it to dip. On skool, I turn off the “Noise Cancelling” feature. It’s hell to deal with and it ruined a lot of my earlier recordings. As long as you do those two things, it should help. It’s a work in progress, though. I plan to use my Mooer S1 Prime pedal to mess with the EQ so I can get rid of that high-pitched noise from my ʻukulele. Might be my wireless setup, too, unfortunately.

@Sam De la haye if you’re just using any built-in mics, I’m not sure how much I can help. Any noise-cancelling features should be turned off, but other than that, I don’t know what else you could do.
🍉 Intuition
Hi Tribers 💕 you know your intuition, that gut feeling, telling you something that we often ignore and dismiss as a random thought? And later, it turns out that it was spot on? Time and time again!! Most recent example: Yesterday I shared w some of you (it was in the comments of @Kāʻili Wells Jr. ’s post) that I am feeling a lil “off”… and I even made a post about fear as I came across about fear of letting others down coaching session, posted by @Dinka Salvador in her community and that resonated so much that I shared it with all of you here. Coincidences?? I don’t think so. Gut feeling? Yes!!! My show tomorrow is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances and I had 5 Tribers coming, one flying in from out of town ( @Sam Gill from Texas!) and another Skooler from the French Riviera who happened to be in San Diego for the time being and was going to drive to my show… This one is not in the tribe, i don’t know why… cuz he is also a musician 😅 Anyways, I was sort of dragging my feet of posting the flyer and inviting more people… I was going to do it yesterday evening… but then I got the news… Something was making me not post it earlier! Something was telling me to post that video about the fear of letting people down! And that was BEFORE I got the news… Moreover, after speaking w @Sam Gill - I immediately contacted him after learning about the cancellation, he shared that something was making him not book that ticket even tho he really wanted to come and vibe w us!!!!! Is that something that you observe happening in your life as well? Do you have examples?

@Rositsa Aleksandrova much of what I have has come from research and piecing things together. Unfortunately, I don’t speak our language and much has been lost because of persecution. Music is one way much of our traditions have survived, including our language. It’s because of the perseverance of a few that I get to reclaim this much of our language, culture, and history. I’m very grateful for that.

@Rositsa Aleksandrova and yes, ending the toxic patterns caused by trauma not dealt with and passed down, I definitely resonate with that. Much of that trauma for my family came from stripping us of our heritage and connection to our lands, so that’s part of what I’ve been working to reclaim. No matter how you do it, it’s hard, but fighting for a better future is worth the work. I commend you for that!
🎄 Fun Friday: Holiday Check-In
It’s a weird day of the year, isn't it? Schedules are off. Energy is mixed. That’s normal. 💬 In a word (or more): How does today feel for you?

@Sam De la haye I have, and I’m in her free group! I’m actually learning from another person at the moment who has won multiple skool games and his new skool is growing like crazy!

@Rositsa Aleksandrova yeah I saw that. Another reason we had to check on my wife’s friends there. I’m sorry you had to evacuate, that’s scary. Reminds me of the fire in Lahaina a couple years ago. I wouldn’t wish that kind of experience on anybody.
Leveled up?!
This community is really fun, thanks for interacting with me! BTW I see that I unlocked the "Chat with Members" feature. Don't worry, I won't slide into DMs or anything 😂

♥️Welcome to V1B1N Tribe!♥️  🎹Start here & introduce yourself:
Please watch this video describing our vibe! 1. Comment on this post - introduce yourself - where are you from and where are you in your music journey? Are you a complete beginner or had some lessons or you are a concert pianist or an electronic producer that plays a few chord progressions? What’s your favorite type to play/listen (classical, jazz, your own compositions)? Do you even play or just here to listen? Of so - we have a special section called “Listening Sessions” - where you can listen to different performances and members playing for us! What’s your favorite fruit? 2. Head over to our classroom (2nd tab) and look through our (ever evolving) categories of courses and post video or questions in the feed for feedback and support :) P.S. Click the bell 🔔 on this post so you are informed when a new members comes in so you can say hello. ❤️🎹🥰💕💕💕 P.S.S… Don't lurk--->LIKE! Engagement is the first and easiest thing you can do. Find a post you find valuable - and let the person who wrote it know. It's a free gift you can give to someone else. Everyone here knows it's nice to be appreciated. And it literally takes a tap or a click. (And yes, statistically, people who like stuff succeed on Skool more). ❤️🙌

@Rositsa Aleksandrova I moved just a few months ago, I totally get it! In the meantime, I'll see if I can make a video for everybody like what I mentioned

@Justin Love thanks Justin! I’ll see what I can put together for everybody. Probably won’t have piano in it though 😅

I empower ʻukulele players to play with confidence, without dealing with teachers who don’t care or confusing YouTube videos.
