1.1.2.b β€” The Difference Between Getting Funded and Staying Funded
1.1.2.b β€” The Difference Between Getting Funded and Staying Funded 🎯 Lesson Objective Understand the difference between obtaining funding and maintaining funding. 🧠 Why This Matters Many traders focus entirely on getting funded. Very few focus on staying funded. This is why many traders repeatedly pass challenges but rarely receive meaningful payouts. πŸ“Œ The Simple Definition Getting funded is an event. Staying funded is a skill. 🧱 The DRAM777 Explanation A funded account is not a trophy. It is a responsibility. Every trading decision should be evaluated based on whether it helps protect the account. Professional traders think first about survival. Amateur traders think first about profit. βœ… What Correct Application Looks Like - Protecting drawdown limits - Respecting risk parameters - Following trade plans - Avoiding emotional decision-making ❌ Common Mistakes - Overtrading - Revenge trading - Increasing size too quickly - Ignoring risk management rules πŸ“ Call To Action In the comments below: What habits do you believe help a trader stay funded the longest? πŸŽ“ Competency Check What is the primary difference between getting funded and staying funded?

πŸ“ Call To Action I believe that the habits that help a trader stay funded longer are: - Disciplined theory: Reading and Studying about Dram and it's framework. - Disciplined practice: Practicing what information has been learned consistently over time. - Humility & Generosity: I am aware that those are traits, BUT they can be practiced and executed. Being able to call it a day after a losses or not being greedy and losing profits. To summarize it all, it seems as if Discipline is the single handedly the most important "habit" (with humility and generosity), that a trader could posses.

@Brian N Could you let @Coach El know, if he asks where I'm at? I'm out on the Hills, where there is no decent stable connection, let alone cable... I appreciate itπŸ™

1.1.2.a β€” Why Passing a Challenge Is Only the Beginning
1.1.2.a β€” Why Passing a Challenge Is Only the Beginning 🎯 Lesson Objective Understand why passing a prop firm challenge is a milestone, not the destination. 🧠 Why This Matters Many traders spend weeks or months trying to pass a challenge. Once they pass, they believe the hard part is over. In reality, the challenge is simply the qualification process. The real test begins when real funded capital is on the line. πŸ“Œ The Simple Definition Passing a challenge proves you can follow rules long enough to qualify. Remaining funded proves you can follow rules long enough to survive. 🧱 The DRAM777 Explanation A challenge account is temporary. A funded account is where the actual business begins. The trader who passes but cannot maintain discipline will often lose funding quickly. The trader who treats funding as the beginning of the apprenticeship has a much higher probability of long-term success. The goal is not to pass once. The goal is to become the type of trader who can stay funded indefinitely. βœ… What Correct Application Looks Like - Viewing challenge passing as a checkpoint - Continuing to follow the same rules after funding - Prioritizing consistency over excitement - Focusing on survival ❌ Common Mistakes - Celebrating as if the journey is complete - Increasing risk immediately after funding - Abandoning proven processes - Chasing larger wins πŸ“ Call To Action In the comments below: Why do you think most traders struggle more after getting funded than they do during the challenge phase? πŸŽ“ Competency Check Which statement is most accurate?

πŸ“ Call To Action The reason why I think that most traders struggle more after getting funded than they do during the challenge phase is because of the "House money effect" or "Low stakes effect". Either way you'd describe it would seemingly fit. Because the "House money effect" is a behavioral economics concept where people become more willing to take risks when using money they didn't earn themselves, such as prop firm EVAL accounts. Yes it is true, the person has to pay for the account first, but they don't value that Eval account like their PA Account. Why? Simple, "Low Stakes Effect": Informal term meaning the consequences are minor or nonexistent for that person. That means in this example, that it's not dear to that person / trader, because they can always renew it or always buy a new one. But they haven't "invested" (wasted) time and "effort" into that Eval, like they did with that PA.

πŸ“ Student Action Step Start with learning the system, by reading and watching certain sources (videos, Essays, ...), then Pass the Prop Firm Challenge by following the rules and executing accordingly, expectedly you would get funded next, meaning you passed the challenge, assumingly with perfect execution. After that, instead of just changing and allowing more risk and higher PnL, you stay funded by being conservative (taking best/ +A opportunities only and even lowering you Risk), the goal is to stay funded, not to get payouts as quick as possible. Following target would be the buffer, build yourself to the buffer to be eligible for payouts. Last, but not least, receive payouts and protect that account.
