Happy Friday, Makers! ๐Ÿงถ
We made it! However your week's gone โ€” full-on, quiet, a bit of both โ€” I hope you've got something nice planned for the next couple of days. I'd love to know: what's been the highlight of your week? Big or small, doesn't matter. And if this week's been more "just about survived it," that counts too โ€” no judgement here, we've all had those weeks. A little shoutout to: @Debra Verrall did you finish that ton of work to before you went to bed? @Gayle Lunau Sherman how are you getting on with your sweater? Oh, and did you check out the beginners start here module? @Mirijam Pasquini did you resolve your foil problem? @Joy Green did you try out more lace patterns on your machine? @Glenna James how's your vintage pattern hunting going? You can always ask inside this community - pop a post and use the category questions. @Donna Mnisi have you checked out the classroom yet? The beginners start here is the best place to learn the basics. @Auli Takala what's on your knitting needles this week? I hope @June E Mackenzie is enjoying her holiday! @Jane Harbison how's your week gone? Any highlights for you? @Lindsay MacGregor I know you're having some time away at the moment, but I just wanted to check in with you and ask how your week's gone? It's not always about the knitting. @Suzanne Bell I know life is hectic for you at the moment, but just wanted to say hi and I hope you're week's getting a bit calmer for you. @Claire Amelia how's the chickens and the ducks after the sad event this week?

๐Ÿงถ Can I show you something a little bit exciting?
I've been working on something behind the scenes for a while now, and I think it's time to share it properly โ€” because it genuinely changes how a pattern feels to use. It's called a ๐—ฑ๐˜†๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐˜๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ป. Now, if you've ever followed a knitting pattern and hit that moment where the numbers just don't quite match your tension โ€” and you've either guessed, fudged it, or quietly given up โ€” this is for you. You enter your tension swatch results, and the pattern recalculates everything for you. Your stitch count. Your rows. All of it, based on ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ yarn and ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ machine โ€” not some average that may or may not match what's happening on your needles. No maths. No guessing. No squinting at a chart wondering if you've got the right size. It also comes with clear step-by-step instructions, written for real knitters โ€” not pattern-book shorthand that assumes you already know what you're doing. I've built this into MkH because I wanted patterns that actually ๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฌ for the person using them, whatever machine they have, whatever yarn they've chosen. I'll be sharing more about this very soon โ€” including how you can get your hands on one. ๐Ÿ‘€

I'd love your help with somethingโ€ฆ
I've been thinking a lot lately about what brings people to the Hub โ€” and more importantly, what you're really hoping to get from being here. On the surface it's machine knitting. But I don't think that's the whole story for most of us. So I'd love to ask you something, and I genuinely want to hear your honest answer: When you joined, what were you really hoping for? Was itโ€ฆ ๐Ÿชก Confidence โ€” to finally trust yourself with the machine โœ… Completion โ€” to actually finish something you're proud of ๐ŸŽจ Creative fulfilment โ€” to make things that feel like you ๐Ÿค Belonging โ€” to find your people, the ones who just get it ๐Ÿ† Pride โ€” to wear or gift something you made and feel genuinely pleased Or something else entirely? Tell me in the comments โ€” I'd love to know in your own words. Your answers are going to help me shape what the Hub becomes next, so nothing is too small or too honest. ๐Ÿ’› You'll notice the next few weeks there'll be a lot of new things landing and the start of the tutorials. But, before I carry on creating and building in the background I'd love to reflect your responses. Jan x

Let's give a warm welcome to our latest member
Welcome to the Hub, @Donna Mnisi ! ๐Ÿงถ It's lovely to have you here โ€” you're in the right place there's plenty of newbie machine knitters in MkH. Something I come back to again and again is just how many different roads lead here. Different machines, different starting points, different stories โ€” and yet the same thread running through all of it. A love of the craft, and the want to keep growing. That's what this community is built on. โค๏ธ We're so glad you've joined us, Donna. Looking forward to getting to know you and helping you with your machine knitting journey.
