Hi Kate, I hope you are doing wonderful! Wondering if i could put in a request for feedback friday :) We’ve recently purchased a 1901 Victorian home and are in the middle of a full renovation. She was quite dark and tired, so we’ve brightened things up with Taulbmans Cotton Sheets on the walls and Brilliant White on the trims and ceiling white for all the beautiful pressed tin ceilings and cornices. We’re now at the stage of choosing colours for custom built-ins and would love your thoughts. We have original Kauri pine floorboards that are currently being sanded and refinished, so we’re keen to make sure everything works together. I’m also unsure whether the intricate wooden fireplace surrounds (differnt marble bases in each room) should be painted the same colour as the built-ins that will sit either side. The goal is a space that feels modern but still respects the home’s heritage character. Duck White half has been suggested, but I’m not completely convinced. We’re open to introducing some colour, as the house is quite white at the moment, but we’re after something layered and subtle rather than stark — modern, yet sympathetic to the original bones of the house. Brass hardware is also being utalised through out the house. Thanks so much — I’d really appreciate your guidance. Ash x
