Sunday Game Night! Story Showdown: Team Game. Team Prize! 📚
@Lesley Christine It was cold, dark, and we were far from civilization. All we could see was the milkyway high above
@Theresa Elliott At 3am, mysterious people emerged quietly from the forest edges. They were all dancing with hula hoops around their waist. They sang a song in a language no one could understand., but everyone started dancing to the tune. The townsfolk spilled out of their homes as if in a trance. Drawn to light high on the hillside, everyone in town and strangers from the forest began dancing uphill, then a large boulder started rolling toward them.
Been heads-down on a quiet website rebrand 🪵🌲 and it’s finally live.
Didn’t change what we do — just made it easier to understand and easier to navigate. cleaner layout the Watch / Listen / Learn sections are organized like a real person would use them the mission’s in plain language (no salesy feel) everything points back to real trips + real skills + real conditions If you’ve got 30 seconds and feel like taking a look, it’s at My Website Two quick questions: Does the homepage tell you what I’m about in the first 5 seconds? What do you want more of this year: navigation, canoe camping, camp systems… or something else? Appreciate y’all being here. Keeping it steady. Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged. @David Iya Thank you took about 12 hours
@Khent Lj Yes, that is the plan, thank you for taking the time to look.
Knowing When to Leave It Alone
One habit I’ve had to unlearn is tweaking things just because I can. In building, that’s how time gets burned and progress stalls. Sometimes the right move is to leave what’s working alone and protect your attention for what actually needs it. So here’s tonight’s question: What’s one thing you didn’t touch today — and are you glad you left it alone? Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.
Question for the builders in here…
When you think about your Skool community, do you have a real vision you’re building toward… or is it mainly a vehicle to make money? No judgement either way — I’m honestly curious. For me, the money part matters (it has to), but it can’t be the reason. If the vision isn’t clear, the content gets noisy, the culture gets messy, and the “why are we even here?” feeling creeps in. So I’m curious: What’s the actual outcome you want your members to have 6 months from now — and does your current community setup point to that… or just to revenue? Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.
@Khent Lj Love the compass reference.
My vision for Blackwater Outdoor Journeys is simple: build an outdoor education brand that helps regular people go from watching adventures to actually living it — with real confidence in life and the outdoors Blackwater Outdoor Journeys is both the brand and my YouTube channel — that’s where I share the adventures the way they really happen. It’s the proof. Real places, real decisions, real outcomes — not staged, not hype. Spotify is where I tell the stories through Campfire Tales. That’s the campfire side of it… the moments, the meaning, and the why it matters. Then the Stay Rugged Podcast is where I turn those experiences into training — the mindset, the standards, and the decision-making that keeps you steady when things get uncertain. And Outdoor Wilderness Camp Skills on Skool is the home base where I teach people step-by-step. That’s where the community lives, the lessons are organized, and folks actually build the skills instead of just consuming content. So the big picture is simple: I share it on YouTube, I tell it on Spotify, I train it on the podcast, and I teach it inside Skool — all built around one mission: helping people become calm, capable, and present when the map ends and judgment takes over. Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged..
Maintenance Night 🔧
Not every evening is for progress. Some are for tightening loose bolts. Answering one message you’ve been avoiding. Cleaning up a half-finished system. Closing a loop that’s been quietly pulling at you all week. Maintenance isn’t flashy, but it’s what keeps things from failing later. What’s one small piece of maintenance you’re handling tonight so it doesn’t become tomorrow’s problem? Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.
@Hicham Char I need to do this exact thing, thanks for the reminder.
