Weekly Discussion #38 - Icebreakers
Let's try something a little different today. Here are some fun icebreaker-type questions for everyone to answer. 1 - Would you rather receive one undeniable EVP or see one full-body apparition? 2 - If you could ask one spirit a single question and be guaranteed a truthful answer, what would you ask? 3 - What's the most unsettling feeling you've ever had in an ordinary place? 4 - If money weren't an issue, what haunted location would you investigate first? 5 - Which haunted location would you never visit? 6 - Have you ever seen something from the corner of your eye that disappeared? 7 - What's one piece of equipment you never investigate without? 8 - What's your biggest investigation mistake? 9 - You wake up in an empty hotel at 3:00 a.m. and hear a child laughing. What do you do? 10 - If you could witness one famous paranormal event in history, which would it be? And... GO!

1-I've had both where I work. 2-Do we really live simultaneous lives in different timelines? 3-That I was definitely not wanted there. Hair stood up, chills. I brought hubby back to feel it...it wasn't for him. It was a creek area near my town. I asked locals if anything bad happened there. 4-Malvern Manor 5-Malvern Manor...or that creek. I haven't been back in over 20 years. 6-Alot 7-My EVP watch and my friend 8-Not knowing about and setting spiritual boundaries. 9-Get my shoes on and grab my phone to check it out! 10-Tough to say, I've love to be able to see what I want when I want. I'd love to witness Travis Walton's abduction.
Weekly Discussion #37 - Do children preceive the paranormal differently?
Do children experience paranormal phenomena more often because of perception differences or lack of skepticism? Are children seeing things adults have learned to filter out? That is the question for this week. Think back to when you were a kid. Did you have an imaginary friend? Did you just make that person up, or did you believe they were 100% real? Why are reports of imaginary friends, spirits, and unusual encounters so common in young children? Do children have a stronger connection to the spiritual world because they are newer to physical existence? Or could children possess intuitive abilities that diminish with age? Maybe children are more likely to communicate with entities because they have less fear and fewer preconceived ideas. If children truly perceive more, why do many lose those abilities as they get older? Has modern skepticism weakened paranormal sensitivity? If you had an imaginary friend as a kid, did you believe they were real, or did you just pretend they were there for the sake of having someone to "play" with?

I didn't have an imaginary friend, but noticed patterns, heard my name when no one was there. I was out of step with most of the kids in my class and started following my intuition early.
Weekly Discussion #35 - Haunted Hotels
Hotels can be some of the most haunted places. They can be old, have a lot of history (both good and bad), and they can be abandoned or functional. It could be a proper hotel or a bed and breakfast. Here is an article from Country Living listing 24 Most Haunted Hotels in America. Have you been to any of these or any haunted hotels? If you have not stayed in a haunted hotel or bed and breakfast before, which one would it be and why? For those outside the USA, do you know of any haunted hotels in your area? ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐˜„ ๐—พ๐˜‚๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ: - Do tragic histories make hauntings more likely, or just more memorable? - Why do hotels seem to attract paranormal reports more than other buildings? - Could hotels act like โ€œenergy reservoirsโ€ because thousands of people pass through them? - Do you think certain room numbers repeatedly become active because of suggestion and expectation? - Could Prohibition-era hotels and speakeasies contribute to paranormal legends because of violence and secrecy? - Are hauntings strengthened when guests continually retell the stories? ๐—œ๐—ณ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐˜†๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ/๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—น: - Whatโ€™s the best evidence you ever captured? - Are hotels easier or harder to investigate than private homes? - What equipment works best in hotels where electrical interference is everywhere? - How do investigators distinguish paranormal sounds from plumbing, HVAC systems, and neighboring guests? - Would you rather investigate alone or with a team? https://www.countryliving.com/life/travel/g2689/most-haunted-hotels-in-america/

I worked in one. I was one of four bookkeepers and we had a ghost. I named her "Pokenhauntus". It was though she (later -he) wasn't too upset with me. We investigated the place about 30 years later while it was being renovated from an office back to a three room suite.

Hi! I was happy to find this group! Intro Post Questions: 1. Where are you from? I live in Central Utah. We have a few places around here with local legend...or maybe it's just cops that know, listening to different experiences and having my own. 2. What sparked your interest in the paranormal? I've had experiences since I was young. Activity seemed to be where I was, including a home and employment. 3. What kind of paranormal topics are you most interested in? I have a friend or two that I ghost hunt with. (Central.Utah.Paranormal.Society) 4. Do you have any experience with ghost hunting, or are you just getting started? I've been trying to communicate for years. Officially, with a group- a few years. 5. What's one place you'd love to investigate and why? Locally, there's a place that intrigues me and scares me. Reports of SW, apparitions and oddities that I think would change me. My gh partner and I were on a podcast and I learned from him that locals know not to go there at night. I am a transplant of 30+ years and I didn't know that. So, I wanna see what some locals have, but I don't want to experience that at all. Bucket list is Malvern Manor in Iowa.
