Not coming out of the ground! And keeping hands up to help stay a tad bit more flat with the pitch on the inner half to help produce a better flighted ball to the right side of the field.
⁉️College Hitters Q&A⁉️
There are many eager high school players in the community who could benefit from your experience. Share your insights by answering these three questions to help them grow. 1. What’s the biggest difference between playing in High School vs Playing in college: 2. What’s one thing you wish you would’ve done differently in high school to better prepare yourself for college? 3. What’s one piece of advice you’d share with a High School player looking to play at the next level?

1. Everyone is good. What separates in my opinion is maturity, competitiveness, and give a crapz. How you mentally approach the game matters, how hard you play no matter how sore you are matters, your love for the game and give crap matters. Everyone has a good swing nowadays it’s about how you prepare before you get in the box and your approach when you’re in battle with another man. 2. I wish I would’ve developed more areas of my game. I “bulked” my freshman winter to hopefully gain more power as a hitter and ultimately didn’t gain much at all but I took away my ability to steal bases and contribute in that matter. Instead, I should’ve managed my weight and continued to lift and become stronger/ more powerful and faster that way. 3. JUCO was the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I wouldn’t be the player I am today without it. I would’ve loved the stay another in an attempt to win a national championship with my best friends but doors were opened and OSU made it hard to pass up. I will never not be a supporter of JUCO baseball and the way that it prepared me for the next level. I would also say that nothing changes if you don’t. You might not be the better hitter or fielder but you can always be the harder worker. Outwork your competition and fall in love with the process. The flood gates will open once you realize that you’re never your final self, there is always room for improvement.

Stay on time. Simplify. Swing easy but with intent. Stay in the ground.
🦵🏼Rip The Turf Apart🦵🏼
The idea of “ripping the turf apart with your feet” is a powerful mental cue that helps hitters create tension and stability in their lower half. Here’s why this concept works and why it can improve your swing: 1️⃣ Activates the Posterior Chain • The cue encourages engagement of muscles like the glutes, hamstrings, and adductors. This activation creates a solid base, enabling the hitter to transfer energy effectively from the ground up through the kinetic chain. 2️⃣ Enhances Ground Force Production • Thinking about spreading or ripping the ground apart with the feet helps generate lateral force, increasing ground pressure. This helps hitters create better rotational power by efficiently transferring weight into their lead side during the swing. 3️⃣ Improves Stability and Balance • By actively engaging the feet and legs with this external cue, the lower half becomes more stable and controlled. This minimizes excessive sway or instability that could compromise timing and bat path. 4️⃣ Maintains Proper Hip Positioning • The motion naturally keeps the pelvis neutral and prevents collapsing inward at the knees. This promotes optimal rotation through the hips, allowing hitters to maintain posture throughout their swing. 5️⃣ Develops Tension Without Tightness • Ripping the turf creates dynamic tension—essential for stability—while avoiding stiffness. This tension helps hitters stay loose but strong, maintaining fluidity in the swing mechanics. ✔️ Incorporating this thought into drills can help athletes feel the connection between their feet, hips, and core, reinforcing a stable foundation for powerful and consistent swings.
