I'm interested
Epigraphs
I have been thinking about Epigraphs. If I am honest, I first had to google, "What is it called when an author includes quotes in a book at the beginning or end or to start off a chapter?" Turns out the word I was looking for is 'Epigraphs." Google says they are used to set a tone, "Authors may use them to gently guide the reader into the story's world." I have always been drawn to them as a reader, and when doing some writing of my own recently, I found I naturally incorporated one. So, what do you think of Epigraphs? Have you used them in your writing or do you plan to?

Book Research
I’ve been organizing my research this week and making plans (and budgeting) to visit some archives. It got me thinking about what you all are doing for your own process. For your non-fiction book, I’m guessing you’re drawing from your personal experiences within a bigger context. For your fiction book, you’re probably doing some serious worldbuilding as you go. What’s your main method of research and accessing raw data? Choose below. What challenges are you facing with your research? How have authors you admire used data in impactful ways? What do you wish you knew more about or did more of? Share your thoughts in the comments.

I start with Google to find the origin, then I go to the source and research from there. I haven't used ChatGPT yet.

@Sierra Melcher hi, I'll try my best - i was the primary caregiver for only my mom while she was battling cancer, (final chemo treatment in end of March) now I inherited her 2 younger sisters 3 weeks ago. One is the caregiver for the youngest who has special needs; unfortunately she neglected both of their health so I'm caregiver for all 3 sisters. The middle sister was hospitalized but now in a rehabilitation facility for 30-45 days. My mom & I have the youngest sister but I have to take of her because my mom physically can't since she's recovering from sadistic chemotherapy. There seems to be upcoming maintenance treatments. I know you didn't ask for all this information but I felt the need to share it because my special needs aunt is like maintaining an 8 year old, plus I have to take & pick her from her day program 2x daily - more work than shuttling a middle school soccer player.
