Rain, Steel, and Shadows
The Night Diver A Diego De LaCruz Thriller Night in New York did not fall gently in 1979. It came down hard over brick walls, rusted fire escapes, and rain-slicked streets that seemed to hold every secret the city wanted buried. In The Night Driver, Diego De LaCruz moves through that darkness behind the wheel of a yellow Checker cab, hunting for answers in a city where danger waits at every curb. Under the sodium glow of tenement windows and streetlamps, he is not alone. Sakura stands beside him, silent and lethal, as the two of them face a world of ambushes, betrayal, and violence that never announces itself until it is too late. This is not the polished New York of postcards and nostalgia. This is the old city. Gritty. Damaged. Alive. The Night Driver is a hard-edged thriller about loyalty, survival, and war in the shadows, where every wet street can turn into a battlefield, and every ride can become the last.

Sounds very interesting
How long should it take your publisher from submission of a Novel to release date?
My publishers have had a 12page Novella just an ebook since August, will be released in next month! Just asked them as when I signed they said would normally be 6 months turn round for full Novel, Been informed they are running short staffed and will be about 1 year from submitting to release!!!!! Is this excessive ?

@M. Damien Suriel ty I am not sure what time scale normally is for a publisher so that’s why I asked, The 9-12 months is for full book (over 50,000) words

Are you still signed with them. Do you have to have agent?
The stories we find in the shadows.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but as I’m finishing my debut thriller, "The Night Driver," I’m realizing that sometimes a single image is what births the entire story. As a street photographer, I’ve spent countless hours waiting for the light to hit the rain exactly like this. It requires a specific kind of patience, very similar to the zanshin (awareness) we practice in Goju-ryu. You have to be present, rooted, and ready for the moment the "truth" of the city reveals itself. This shot on Avenue B isn't just a study in urban noir; to me, it’s where Diego De LaCruz lives. It’s the mood I’m chasing with every chapter I write. The Creative Challenge: I want to see where your imagination goes. If this photo were the opening shot of a film, what’s the very first line of dialogue you hear? Drop your best "noir" one-liner in the comments. I’ll be hanging out responding to my favorites while I dive back into the final edits!

Unbeknown to the world busying home after a long day at work trying to stay dry, above them the cloaked figure was hiding waiting for his victim number 13 to return to her apartment
Hi I’m a new author of scifi for pre teens/ ya. I have a traditional contract with no upfront money. The pub are not in uk, which has caused issues.
I have managed to sort uk distribution now I’m on Ingram/gardners. My question though is I have also written a series of young children’s picture books based on the stories I used to make up for my son every night when he was little. Do I approach and get tide into another contract with my publisher for these as well as my us scifi or what is best uk publisher to approach (without agent)

No they do it all, and have offered lots of help and advice re socials, launches, author days anything I need. Even with a time difference I normally get a response to any queries within 24hrs. They had few issues with staff etc but it doesn't impact on us.
