Today we had our usual morning walk and it could not have been better! Leif did not pull, at all!!on the way along the road. He did not pull going up the slope even though there were people and he was almost tip toeing to see them. He explored along the river bank. He was excited when we saw 3 dogs off lead across the small field as we walked along. He didn’t pull he just had his tail in the ? Shape and trotted, looking over to them and then looking at me too. Then and this is the ultimate bit. When we saw the dog he usually dislikes off lead, we sat off of the path and waited. To my almost horror the dog came bounding up, ears flapping in excitement, jumping over the big clumps of very long grass. What did Leif do? He only stayed sitting, looking at the dog🎉🥳the owner called the dog, it went and we continued our walk. Before arriving home we did a few switches, round, wait and middles. Honestly it was wonderful! I’m sure this is the norm for the majority of us but not for all. What does your walk look like?

Do you feel as though you are always ‘working on something’ with your dog? What I mean is, the not pulling, not stealing food, recall or tricks? It just occurred to me that whilst we want our dogs to walk nicely, absolutely not take our food before we have sat down at the dining table and to of course return to you on demand, are we always working on new skills, improving what we do all the time? I think that’s my plan because I want to improve and enhance Leif’s and any future dogs lives that come my way. So do we have a plan of training or is it as it happens?

My lovely little oldie turned 10 the other day … this is the dog I wish could live forever! She follows me to every inch of the house… sits and just stares at me like I’m the best thing in this world… since I’ve had my ivf miracle woody 4 months ago she’s struggles but now realised baby=warmth and cuddles with mummy so she’s okay with it now haha
