DAY 175 b; SYSTEM DELAYS
Folder; *Systems Thinking* Have we ever caught ourselves asking; 1) Why things are not working out? 2) Why things delay Because often more than not, that's how they are to by the nature of the system of things. We live in systems. We interact with systems and within these systems, we importantly interact with other players of the system. One thing is fundamentals; All systems have delays. So theoretically, a cause should instantaneously produce an effect. Which some systems do; Like.if you cut your hand, you will instantaneously bleed. If you breathe in, oxygen will move through your nostrils But then most of the systems we interact with have appreciable amounts of delays. This delays come from events, elements and players of the system. That is why as a student; 1) You will learn or take part in the process of learning but then it will take some time before you understand. That time you take is a delay between the cause of learning and the effect of understanding. So if you realize you might even write an exam on something you have learnt but get it entirely wrong Some days, some months then you begin to understand what you learnt. Sometimes,.what you learnt in class 4 you understand in JHS 1 or even the time you become a father ๐Ÿ˜‚. So in this particular scenario. It's not really about learning hard, which you should do any way But the real structural goal is to reduce the delay between cause of learning and effect of understanding. To quicken the transition from learning to.understanding Same systems exist around everywhere in the world. Your goal as an actor is to essentially reduce the delay between cause and effect. And surprisingly in some systems, the delay is a function of you and the other players. At another time, we would talk about the delays of other players and what they mean to you, affect you and what to do about it.

DAY 175 a; BAN SMALL TALK
Folder; *Quality Relationship Building* Why should it take us 5 years to figure out someone? This is something that might be of interest to a lot of us We live in a society that constantly favors and pushes small talk Thus figuring out someone mostly becomes a matter of time and not precision Imagine if we could on a more approximate probability, figure out someone to a large extent with 1) A couple of sentences 2) Over just a few days of interactions 3) Over coffee Imagine the amount of uneccessry relationships we would reduce Imagine the amount of more quality relationships we will form because now 1) We can figure out people more quickly and decide to be with them or not. This is not to say small talks can't reveal people's nature and quirks but rather in their nature , they are meant to pass time, to prep things up. So why then do we constantly engage in small talks when the relationship and the quality of it really matters to us? We need to engage in questions that 1) Reveal the other party's thinking process/nature 2) Reveals the person's worldview The list goes on What type of questions do you think can do this job?

DAY 175; QUESTION THE " NATURAL" NATURE OF THINGS
Folder; *Assumed Nature* This is something that I wish I knew much earlier. Lend me your ears and thank me later. Growing up till now, we have assumed the nature of a lot of things. Things we know deeply and sometimes things we know not so deeply. Because we have assumed certain things to be of a particular nature It then impacts their effects on our lives and how we relate to them. The things we have assumed are numerous but I will touch on just a few. 1) We have assumed small talk to be the automatic nature of everyday conversation. This is not to say we should assume deep talks to be the nature of everyday conversation But then what if we did. Then it would definitely impact how we approach our conversation.qith people and what we get out of them Whether it's deep talk or small talk, the nature we assume are rather arbitrary and socially influenced and enforced. So while we live in a society, we shouldnt conform blindly to the nature of things because that's how we've known them to be. Let us be ready to go to the other side. Because it on the other side that we can exercise our agency as humans and engage with life on a grander scale. NB; The problem of blindly assuming nature of things is that you might never feel motivated to see what the other side might give you.

DAY 174; THE HEURISTICS GAME
Folder; *Heuristics/Impressions* Today, we are going to talk about something very cognitive. And if we understand this, it would highly impact the way we move in life. We all understand that humans mostly love shortcuts. And our brain also love shortcuts. So technically, We love *heuristics.* What does this mean for you and I? This means that; *We can't play in life avoiding to engage with the many heuristics available.* And more importantly heuristics are a way to help reduce the otherwise resistance we might face when moving in the world. A food for thought; If we heard someone speaking for the very first time or dare I say multiple times. And he spoke so relaxed, confident and articulate. We will without a doubt think ourselves agreeable to him. View his message as quite substantial and see him as put together. Another food for thought. Let's say we go to a hangout for a first time and then we meet a new man. Then on his wrist we see a Rolex, a real one of course. Immediately without a doubt, we might think him rich. The Rolex has become a heuristic for wealth status Another food for thought; Who would we listen to and most likely take his advice. 1) The man speaking from the stage 2) Or the man speaking beside you. All things being equal. 95% of us will go for the one speaking from the stage because that serves as a heuristics for credibility, who knows his stuff more etc. Perchance or perhaps the one sitting and speaking beside you might have more substance than the one speaking from the stage. But surprisingly that is cognitive load that we will have to grapple with. The good news is that there is so many heuristics in this world that , we can apply for our good. But as we know, heuristics will get us into the room, moving with the other person but substance is what will keep us there. So let us work on both structurally using the heuristics at the same time entrenching our substance.
