This is a teacher's dream....I think. One of my students painted this completely on her own. Not during one of my classes. She didn't ask for advice or wait for me to tell her what to do next. Look at this painting!!!. The composition is exceptional! She CLEARLY understands light and shadow. She understands value and color. She knows where she wants your eye to go. And those loose, confident, juicy brushstrokes? DROOL. WORTHY. SHE GETS IT. I'm not trying to create students who need me forever. I'm trying to teach them how to SEE, THINK and MAKE DECISIONS like artists. And for the record... THIS IS VERY SELLABLE WORK @Kate Bullock

What is something artistic that you secretly wish you could do?

Last night was special. THIS is what happens when someone says, "I'm not sure I can but I'm willing to try" 29 paintings were on display from brand new artists. MANY it was their first painting EVER!!!! Thank you @Heather Boers @Kate Bullock and Malia, for showing up last night and showing your work. I love your spirit and I love what you have created. I am SOOOO proud of you all and the others that exhibited last night. VERY VERY well done!
