Struggle posts are killing your vibe
If you're leading with "what's your biggest challenge?" you're marketing to the problem and the pain. It's like the water-cooler whining that drove me away from corporate. Gossip, negativity, bah... it's such a downer! I see it in so many communities and it's stalling momentum 😬 What you focus on grows. What you focus on grows. Repeat after me.... what you focus on grows. So let's focus more on what we (and our community members) desire! I'm not suggesting you whitewash what you/your people are truly struggling with, but when you focus on the pain you get more pain. You get more complaining than problem-solving. It makes our brains fire in a totally different way. Guess what? You can honor and acknowledge pain points without putting them in the spotlight. How? Here are some reframes to get you thinking: Instead of "what's your biggest challenge?" try "what are you working toward?" Where are you feeling stuck? >> where do you feel close to a breakthrough? What are you overwhelmed by? >> how can you create more clarity? What's the thing you keep avoiding? >> what's your next brave step? What's not working? >> How are your results shifting your approach? It's not a positive "spin," it's not "Polyanna-ing" things, it's helping people think ahead, spark ideas, and show them that solutions are ahead, even if they can't see them. My challenge to you all is this—moving forward, ask yourself: is this a struggle post? And if the answer is yes, your next question is "how can I shift this energy from venting to movement?" Onward!!
