Online Jam Community on SKOOL
Some of you have already experience with jam sessions online, others are considering the possibility. Obviously this is not limited to but includes Jazz violins. I have launched a whole new group in SKOOL that you can join https://www.skool.com/online-jam-6255/about The whole session repertoire is available there, together with recordings of past sessions and a calendar with forthcoming sessions.

Fiddles in the middle of the night
While jamming at 9 in the morning in France is not too ambitious, Paul in West-Virginia gets up at 3 to be with us. He must be really enjoying this. We spent quite some time exploring double time on ballads.

YouTube playlists for online jams
Jam sessions can be pure joy but what if there are tunes you have no idea of ? Well, listen to the masters, not just one, preferably many. That is where playlists with different versions of the same tune come in handy. For each of the tunes on the setlist of the month you find, in addition to a backing, a chord chart and a score, a YT playlist with a dozen+ different versions. Just go to classroom, online jams, setlist and click on the tune.

Unedited recording of our public live streaming session of January 2026 https://www.jacktrip.com/recordings/NG9GRQCcyjMddUCEt-0S4 This is just the visible part of a wider project: creating safe playgrounds online for jazz ensemble music. Everybody plays from home with zero logistics, meeting like minded people and putting study material to practice. There are several private sessions per week giving everybody the opportunity to jam. It is free. Interested ? Let me know. We played 12 tunes: Billie's Bounce Rhythm-A-Ning It Don't Mean A Thing Jitterbug Waltz Stompin' At the Savoy Little Sunflower I Fall In Love Too Easily Triste Watermelon Man All Blues Night And Day Anthropology Violin @Ann Vancoillie Fiddle and vocals Paul Epstein Trumpet Andreas Wedemeyer Trombone Rolf Mandix Guitar and vocals Pierre Briend, Michael Rogers Saxes Sergio Gallego Keys and BiaB @Thomas Wollersen https://www.jacktrip.com/recordings/NG9GRQCcyjMddUCEt-0S4

multi-instrumentalist with a strange relationship to the violin. I am retired and music is one of my main activities.
