Tutor Support - Question for Grads!
I would like to ask those of you who have studied with me to please share some insights on how you found tutor support during your studies! Obviously this is an entirely new platform and we have been SO used to supporting students via our Facebook group, and for new people joining who aren’t getting to see how amazing that was, enrolling can be a little bit daunting. Please share some thoughts of your experiences with the HGA in the comments below 👇 Note: I’ve tagged some of you to hopefully get the post some attention! @Vanessa Barber @Clare Hudson Hill @Clare Pulfer @Lizi Arnold @Daniella Malcolm-Stewart @Vanja Matjaž @Lorna Williams @Lesley Gordon @Victoria Shepherd

I had a really positive experience on this course. The support throughout was excellent, with constructive feedback on every unit that really helped me improve and stay on track. It was always easy to ask questions and get help whenever I needed it, which made a big difference. The tutors were very understanding and supportive of different learning styles, making the whole experience feel comfortable and encouraging. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to learn in a supportive environment.
Awareness Day Pupdate! 🎨
So we’ve been having fun chilling out at home today. We have watched some television on the couch, we have pottered about the garden planting seeds, we even set up some Freework activities around the house. But my favourite activity today has been dog art class using lickable treats 👅 Later i’ll be giving the two girls a bath and then letting them air dry with a chew since it’s sunny today ☀️ It’s admittedly been good to keep occupied since it’s a week today Nala passed away… I had SO many plans for her today, and it has been really hard coming to the realisation she isn’t coming back… Let me know who is joining me tonight to share what they’ve got up to? 👇 #dontwalkyourdogday

Lupin and Jess have been to a dog paddock, they have had a good sniff around . They are both relaxed now watching their dad build his home gym!
Today is the day, are you joining us?
Hello everyone! 👋 We are all set for Don’t Walk Your Dog Day today! 🐕 🚶 To give you some inspiration, here are some things you could do instead of walking: ⭐️ set up a Freework activity around your home, or secure garden ⭐️ surprise your dog with a treat filled boredom buster such as a kong, lickmat or snuffle mat ⭐️ start some consent-based training exercises using positive reinforcement ⭐️ if your dog enjoys it, spend some bonding time grooming your dog or even, simply petting them ⭐️ chill out and watch a dog-themed movie together on the couch ⭐️ if your dog doesn’t mind the car, drive to a nearby secure dog run where they can spend some time off-lead with no distractions or other dogs to worry about Perhaps you can think of more? Today it would be AMAZING if you all post what you’re getting up to with your dog. Later this evening, I will check in with you all and hopefully get to hear what you have gotten up to! Have fun today everyone, and remember, you’re not a failure for having a dog who struggles with walking in public places, and there are still ways to offer your dog opportunities to have fun, decompress and stimulate their busy minds while you work on those issues 🩷 See you tonight!

Pet Loss
Dearest community, please forgive my 'MIA' the last couple of days. My most precious girl, Nala, has been in end of life care for the last year, and passed away yesterday afternoon in the safety of her home, in the arms of the person who loved her the most in the world. I'm trying to navigate the loss of the very best 'dog teacher', a behaviour student could ever have asked for - she taught me so much about boundaries, about deep-rooted behaviours, about dog-on-dog conflict, about food resource guarding, and so much more. But most importantly of all, she taught me that even a dog with significant behaviour and physical impairments, can be supported. Can be beautiful. Can be loving. Can be the best comfort in times of stress. I am utterly devastated. I am broken. So, I ask that you all please bare with me as I may be a little less active in this space over the next few days. If there's anything really important remember you can reach out to @Clare Hudson Hill or @Vanessa Barber - our HGA tutors. I intend to be back on track for our next Live check in on Monday.

Meet ups !
It was so lovely to meet up with Vanessa today. We had such a nice chat about life and our jobs, and it honestly felt really refreshing. It’s not often you get to talk with someone who truly understands why we work the way we do.
