Playful Shift - Coffee Chat
Come join us in the Connected Through Play community every Sunday at 7:30 am CDT where we explore topics related to child development with a focus on play. The chat for 26 April is all about Layered Learning. What it is, how you can layer learning at home, and how to incorporate life skills without the kids thinking it’s “school!” https://www.skool.com/connectthruplay/about

@Lydia Lowery Busler no, I’m not sure who she is. Sounds like someone I need to meet!

@Lydia Lowery Busler I’m always open to an introduction 😎
Fancy a little focus? 🙍🏽‍♀️🙎🏻‍♂️🙇🏾
Here's where I am right now, spring snow outside my window. ⬇️ Things change day by day, don't they? And it's fine. We're here for it. Do you tell yourself that life interferes? Or do you own your intention? We can't control the weather, but we can choose one priority and work on it calmly for 25 minutes. I run a virtual room called 25 & 25 Calm Coworking. We meet, state our single intention, and focus on it quiety for 25 minutes, stretch, drink water, and go back to it for another 25 minutes and then check in before going on with our day. I'm thinking of offering it on Skool. Does this interest you?

@Lydia Lowery Busler I never liked group study sessions in college, either🤫 To me it’s just awkward being online and working on stuff independently. Especially on those occasions I get to do deep work and then have to check in. A lot of my friends swear by them for productivity, etc. it’s just not something that works for me🤷🏻‍♀️

@Lydia Lowery Busler yes. Some people benefit from the structured approach.

Money Shame.
The kind that shows up when: 🫣 your card declines 🫣 you avoid opening your bank app 🫣 you made great money this month but still feel broke 🫣 you feel embarrassed asking questions about finances Here’s mine. At 22, I was a single mom drowning in $32,000 of credit card debt, and I filed for bankruptcy. The shame from that moment sat in my chest for years. So I did what many women do… I overcorrected. I created a strict spending plan and followed it like a “good girl” for two decades. Until one day I snapped. I was tired of working hard and never enjoying my money. So I rebelled. That rebellion created $100,000 of debt. Eventually, I changed my relationship with money, built a system that worked, and paid it all off. But if I’m being honest…that shame still creeps up sometimes. Most women are still carrying money shame silently. So let’s change that. Money Shame Thread Share one thing you’ve felt ashamed about when it comes to money. No judgment. Just honesty. I’ll start another one. For years I believed: “Money burns a hole in my pocket.” Your turn 👇 And this right here is exactly why I created The Smell of Money. A place where women can talk about money honestly without shame and learn a simple system for managing their finances. 💨 On April 6th I’m hosting a live “Money Breath” session inside the community. It’s a simple practice that helps calm your nervous system around money so you can start making clear decisions instead of reactive ones. If you’re ready for a healthier relationship with your money, you’re welcome here.
